Interview with RFK: The People's Gazette

Day 5,665, 08:31 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Mr Woldy

Citizens!

Good afternoon and merry election day tidings. I'm here to offer up some light intrigue whilst the polls are busy (Up the Spam!). Before you go on to read the below interview with esteemed & eager Journo-type RFK, be sure to drop a comment on the Government giveaway to claim some free stuff. Likewise if you aren't already registered with Bupa get in touch with them for even more free stuff.

Swapping Seats with the interviewer.

I thought it would be interesting to get RFK in the interviewees-seat for a change. He has caught the eye of all media watchers for publishing interviews, so this genius twist of the medium will no doubt make for some interesting reading.
Question 1

- A little TRS fun fact is that one of our number is training to be a wrestler. If you were a wrestler, what would your walk-on music be, and why?

RFK - My walk on song would frankly be any song by The beach boys. so good, they're just amazing.

Question 2

You are named after Bobby Kennedy - is this someone you admire IRL and are there anyways you think that he might inform or inspire your words and actions in eRepublik?

RFK - This question might become irrelevant when you post since I'm thinking of a name change, but I do take great inspiration from him. Framed photo of him on my nightstand, I don't think I could really do what he did in this game since so much of what he stood for were only problems going on at that time. but yes I do take from him.

Question 3

I note from your profile you like to follow politics and elections data - in a perfect world if you could ask plat for some data or info on eUK's politics or elections what would you ask for?

RFK - I would ask for every voters message feed, Activity logs, chat sent and vote cast. I'm a psephologist, if I know what a voter does to vote the way he does I would like to know it! if that makes me a creep just know all psephologists are creeps, that's why we predict elections for fun

Question 4

June will mark one year since you signed up. What were your first impressions of the eUK, and have they changed over the past 11 months?

RFK - When I first joined this game I didn't think I would amount to this much... I was a student bored in the summer so I wanted to do something that would cater to my interests, that's when I found this game. I have grown to really know this game over time and I'm glad I joined it.

Question 5

Sticking on the ebirthday theme - how would you characterise your involvement in the eUK over the past year, and what do you think you'll be doing in your next year on erep?

RFK - Well, I will continue to do my journalism. that's really what I have here in the eUK and now in other places that involves me in this game and what I earn from it, I can tell you I would not be Party Spokesperson without my Journalistic involvement. I don't know where I will be in a year, I can only say ill still be in the game.

Question 6

You have probably got the impression that there are many players who stick around in eRep or the eUK after signing up - as someone who has stuck around would advice would you give to someone starting today?

RFK - I would say this is not what you think it is, your not going to amount to anything your first day its going to take a while. Enjoy yourself you will accomplish something eventually.

Question 7

Your interviews have become a staple of the eUK's Media, do you have any ambition to branch into non-interview based articles or branch out into other forms of commentary?

RFK - I do indeed, its just hard to coordinate something bigger than that. I was once for a while the chairman of the GFJ, an organization that unfortunately fell apart. That was a good time and I'm still looking for something new and exiting to do.

Question 8

Last question! The eUK has over 200 regular citizens, but votes and endorsements of articles rarely exceed around 20. What do you think eUK players could do to encourage engagement in the media module and its articles, and are there any topics or types of reporting you'd like to see more of?

RFK - This right here. these interviews are important and I would like to see more, so thank you for doing this.

Well there you have it! Some interesting questions and tid-bits I am sure you will agree. Bobby Kennedy photos are available from the souvenir shop should you wish to have one by your bedside too.

My main thought is that I hope RFK's Guild of Free Journalists, which I am sorry to hear disbanded - can perhaps reform into the eUk Journalist Forum or similar. Good media means good community.

Lastly! GKWCJ's has dramatically concluded. After roaming around the Dacha two players stuck with it boldly unearthed some hints with which to complete King Woldy's terribad crossword. Rory completed the crossword first without hints, and Mada was a close second. As they both qualified for the toilet-rush they were given the option of splitting-or-stealing the prize fund as an alternative way of finishing the game.

They agreed to this approach.

The first message I received was from Rory, who agreed to split the prize.

The second message I received was from Madacaion (obvs) who ... also agreed to split the prize!

500Q7 weapons have been sent to both of them.

Keep your peepers peeled for the next mega-contrived and long to resolve Mr Woldy fun game!

Thanks for reading,
Mr W
