Join the new world

Hello everyone and welcome to this edition of my Newspaper, this time i made a small break about the political business to start a small interview with a famous user called Octavian_F.

Many of you probably know that Octavian_F is a famous player, actually eliving on eCanada, user which has managed to get 2 media mogul medals with his newspaper called Financial Times, and is also the owner of the CIBC (Central Investment Bank of Canada), but do you really know who he is? no you don't, and i know you're probably thinking "What, this guy will tell us who he is?" if that's the case, yes! i will.

So let's start with the interview, Octavian.





So, Octavian_F, who are you?

I have no clue what to think about it. Everyone has their own opinions. Who IS Octavian_F?

Octavian, i'm aware you are a rich and famous player, so tell us, what did you do to reach the famous eRepublik citizen you are today?

Well. calling your President a god-emperor, and labeling the government as a "fail" are all good ways to become infamous like me. Going on with that show for a good year, taking a nice break, and then coming back refreshed, and ready to kick some ass (in a not so confrontational way), is a good way to take away the "in" out of your famous.

Of course you'll always have the haters. But don't mind them. They only have power when you give them something to latch on to. It's not bad being a critic, but it's horrible to doing it the wrong way. Horrible because you'll get pwned by teh internet tough guys. Gotta be careful, it's a wild internet out there. Lol

On to monies. Heck I call myself rich to piss off those who say otherwise, but my cute 500 gold or so fortune is not nesscarily such a big deal when you've been around as long as I have. All in all I'm a cheap guy when it comes to wars, I don't like to spend too much money on fighting if at all. I love economics, and although I was completly clueless at first, I started learning step by step how game's monetary market and economy funcions, and now I can say I do a pretty good job of taking people's money and forcing it to "procreate" like Pandas in a zoo. 😛

You have stated you have earned some enemies, if you don't mind, could you tell more about them to our readers?

I do not wish to name names. Those who are identify themselves quite openly on my newspaper comments, in other newspaper comments, on irc, etc, so no need to insult our reader's intelligence. 😛

But you know, some people hold grudges... and you gotta deal with that. I personally don't hold any grudges although I find it hard to make peace with someone if they choose to remain hostile. Nowadays I just ignore it and keep doing my thing. 😛

Before you leave, what do you think about the current situation that eCanada is living, in your opinion, which stage of eCanada was better, the current eCanada or the ancient eCanada? why?

Man I stick around cause I love this game's features. eCanada is a problem I enjoy trying to solve, and it's community is just another aspect that can either keep someone playing or drive them away.

Overal I think eCanada has performed poorly. Why? Because we had so much potential, we had it all, resources, a proper burecracy, we were not victims of PTOs, nor were we a tiny counry. We had all we needed to grow as a nation and encourage a babyboom like Poland. Yet ultimately what I feel makes our engine move is the commonity. And it is the community that dictates our economic policy, etc, and it is it who decides our future.

So in regards to that I wanna say I really like and respect players like Coda and Goran Thrax.They are friendly players with a non-confrontational attidute. Some people in this game play it to make themselves feel good by acting all obnoxious, others have personal goals and sacrifice the community for themselves, and others like Coda and Thrax choose to make this game enjoyable for all and really create an environment of mutual respect and having fun while enjoying this mentally stimulating game. Again I took the wrong approach when I first started playing. Coda for example, does sometimes publicly disagree with someone, but she has a way of making sure she does so in a more diplomatic way.

If I was to choose between Today's eCanada, and the old eCanada. I'd say today was better. Sure we're not at our goal, but we're getting there. Players who are less zelous are taking the lead and are not responding to the insults and provocationsof other players as they once did. As a result just like in those government-sponsored anti-bullying commercials we have in Canada, "if you ignore the bully they will go away" haha.

"Trolling" is used for a purpose, and if the community no longer responds the way a troll would have wanted them to, it will go away. People like Kronos_Q, Nosyt, Dycey Farley and others who I apologize if I didn't mention are taking a bigger role in our community and I think it looks to be having positive effects.

I don't know what the future will hold, but it looks a whole lot brighter IMO than our bleak past and present.
