Hello, and welcome to the Poor Man's Blanket. I'm your man behind the desk, PencilPal.

First of all, this is my little love note to everyone who voted or subscribed or shouted my last article. You guys are the best people in the world, even if you have bad taste. The PMB thrives off of the trust and loyalty of its readers, and nothing promotes that more than SHAMELESS CONTESTS! The first person to comment will be given the great, awe-inspiring prize of 1 Canadian Dollar! WOOO HOOO! Courtesy of John A Kelly who thought that for some reason, I need CAD. Thanks for reading, John. In unrelated self-indulgent news, I'm tired. I had to write two papers in only a couple hours, and so I am unsurprisingly reluctant to write a lot, so I did an interview. If you don't like it, unsubscribe. (I'm just kidding, don't unsubscribe. I love you people.)

On to the news!

I sat down with Party President of the Libertarian Party, Jelly9473, who is awesome for taking time out of his busy schedule RUNNING THE DEPARTMENT OF STATE to talk to me and my 50-subscriber paper. As I said, Jelly is awesome. Here's what he had to say:

PenciPal: Can you tell me a little history about the Libertarian Party, or about your experiences with it? What drew you personally to the Libertarian Party?

Jelly9473: I came to eUS, and the Libertarian Party about 8-9 months ago at the invitation from CRoy when he was running for POTUS so I'm not the best person to ask about the real history of the Libertarian Party, however it's one of the parties I knew about before I came to eUS. Only because of DanielDCD and his short time in eIndia 😛 When I first came to the Libs it was mainly ran by CRoy, Clairelittleton and Iasov, with the new blood of Paul Proteus, Marxus and I backing it up.

PP: What separates the Libs from other parties?

J: I think what separates us from other parties is our idea that IRC>Forums, not many parties seem to share that philosophy.

PP: What kind of eRepublik player is attracted to the Libertarian Party?

J: I think obviously RL Libertarians are attracted to our party, but we also seem to attract more "individualist" players. I'm not sure how to describe that one, but as a party we seem to work better in smaller groups, call us elitists 😛

Of course, we have our fair share of loonies too 😉

PP: The Libertarians have a relatively small amount of people in Congress for the amount of members they have. Could you explain why that is?

J: For the past few months we've had relatively low congressional numbers. We are the fifth party, so I believe that's to be expected. We also aren't exactly the most organized party when it comes to voting/sniping lol. People claim we lost congressional seats last month, but when you examine election results you can see that we still only got 2 Libs in, last month there were pizza's and UIP.

PP: What is your party's relationship to the "True Libertarians"?

J: We don't really have a relationship, I'd have no problem running their members for Congress, or just having them merge under us. But, I've been told we don't follow the "real" libertarian political ideology so, another party was created lol

PP: If you had to sell your party to a new player in one sentence, how would you do so?

J: So, you have the chance to go to a party with zombie, an owl, a guy from the military, a guy with a wig, or ME. (P.S. The answer is ME)

Let's all pretend he didn't cheat on the last question by using two sentences. Allow me to end the article on a comic.
