Meet the Press Special Interview with Henry Arundel

He is one of the few major eUS players that I am yet to interview, but today ladies and gentlemen, this interview has been done. I am proud to say that I have finally interviewed long-time USWP Party President and candidate again this month Henry Arundel. Many of you might know him as "Pfeiffer", but whatever you call him, we have his answers to some questions I submitted to him sometime yesterday.

Interview with Pfeiffer

1. You are by far one of the most talked about players in the eUS, both for the good and the bad. How does it feel to be one of those people?

It doesn't 'feel' like anything in particular. When I returned last summer I made the conscious decision to play this game mechanically, and to ignore the rest. I join in RP stuff for the purposes of supporting mechanics, never in contradiction to them, and I don't waste my time trying to protect other people's feelings. I call it as I see it, and I've gained a bit of notoriety for that.

I think if I hadn't been so successful in supporting my words with deeds, or if I'd been wrong more often, people wouldn't pay any attention to me. But, I was able to carry through with the majority of what I said I would do, and I have been proven right far more often than those who oppose me have. I could start listing things, and people will automatically jump to my losses in Presidential campaigns, but that's all that they can point to. On every other topic I've taken a public stance, the best they can do is challenge me subjectively.

2. The USWP has come under heavy fire recently, centering around your leadership of the party. What is your response to said critics, and can we expect you to change anything in the near future?

People don't like me because, as I said in #1, I don't go out of my way to protect their feelings. The simple fact is, the USWP is the most successful party in this country, and haters gonna hate.

3. The USWP has had someone it backed in the White House for most of the year, including the last five months. Do you think that this is a bad thing?

Why would I? We've run the best candidate every month following January (Haliman ruined a very good thing). That's just a fact. I am of course, excepting the month when Stanley Ibcus decided to stab the entire party in the back and then disappeared for a few months. We ended up supporting Blank, because he was clearly the best person left in the race, and he won.

4. The AMP and the USWP seem to be rivals these days. Do you see this as a good thing for the political system within our nation?

It's a good thing for AMP. It gives them a way to motivate their base. Number two is always gunning for the top spot. In general, I think strong competition is good for the country, yes. I am 100% Darwinist.

5. It has been raised to the public eye that you might have abused your powers as a mod on the main eUSA Forums. What is your response to these allegations?

If anyone has a specific complaint, we have a place where they can lodge them. The simple fact is, I'm vocal in calling people out for stupid things they say, and they get butthurt, so when I mod everything gets dialed to 11. In response to their butthurtedness, I've decided to stop active moderation, unless someone posts something in violation of RL laws or a person's right to privacy. Not because I care what people say, but to save my friend Pig the headache of their bitching.

6. The USWP has been the top party in the eUS for quite some time now. Do you think a party holding this spot for so long might raise concerns over the lack of competition on the system of political parties these days?

There is plenty of competition. We have to work very hard to keep ourselves number one.

7. Can we expect you to run for POTUS anytime soon?

If I run again, it would only be because I can't find someone I can trust to do the job. It's just easier for me to lend my support to someone else. I won't rule it out, but I can't commit to a timeline.

8. How do you feel the last POTUS, GoalieBCSC did his job, and what might you have done differently?

I think Goalie did very well. He, and I share this trait, isn't super concerned with the media module, so some people claim he did a poor job, which is silly. We made gains during his term militarily, and I challenge anyone to find fault with his term. The media module is the single least engaging portion of the game these days. The lack of ads, the lack of daily shout limits, and the inability to publish outside of your citizenship country all led to media becoming less and less important.

9. When do you see the nation getting all of its regions back?

That depends on a number of things, and I doubt you want a lecture on the different ways we could be prevented from ever getting them all back. The point is, we don't need them all. We've got 51 native regions, and a lot of duplicate resources. Our concern should be obtaining, and holding, resources to improve our production while simultaneously attempting to lower our enemies production.

10. Is there anything else you would like to say to the American people, the readers of Meet the Press, or myself?

Not really, but as always (if you want a peek behind the big scary curtain) my personal IRC channel is #Pfeiffer, and anyone is welcome to stop by at any time.

Conclusion

There you have it my dears, an interview with one of the eUS' most known players. I know you all are probably asking why interview someone alot of you don't like, and I answer with this: I don't interview the liked people around us, I proved that with three interviews (and I'm not done) with Pizza the Hut. I have nothing personal against Henry. He is a bit more blunt than I, but some people are, and as long as they can do their jobs and serve this nation, then I have no reason to complain.

As always, thanks for reading Meet the Press, and hopefully this article helps us get to at least 290 subscribers, so that we are still moving for the year-end goal of 300.
