Interview with eNorwegian CP - Ursidae Polar

Day 1,706, 02:21 Published in Norway Portugal by dixib

I'm not good at writing speeches so let me jump on the subject right away. Here is an interview with our great Mr. President - Ursidae Polar.

1.) Tell us something about yourself.
I’m Ursidae Polar, a real life Norwegian living in Vestlandet, engineer by profession and a quick Google search on the first part of my nick will reveal my first name 😉

2.) How did you decide to run for CP?
Always been on my mind that I wanted to be CP.. There were things in eNorway that I wanted to change and restructure, so when someone suggested I should be CP next term, things started to fall into place. The massive support I received made it a lot easier for me to devote myself as CP and try to do what I saw needed to be done in my country.

3.) Do you plan to run for CP again?
I would like to, but I would never do it without such a solid Cabinet as I have now. They have been excellent in their tasks, and if I have them on my side - and the support of the people, I would run again. It has already been a very interesting and time-consuming job, but fun!

4.) What do you think about current situation in eWorld?
Well, it’s never really been a really tranquil place has it? The international scene has become a bit turbulent the last week, without going into too much details about it... How things will shape around these events would be quite interesting to see in the next few months!

5.) You really done a lot for eNorway so far, so is there something more you want to achieve during this term as CP?
Definitely get a training war running, there’s been talks for a long time regarding this, and it’s something I would like to see happen - and the people would love it! I still have a lot of work to do to get the country properly organized, right now the military and Minister of Education has been the most focused on.

6.) What can you tell us about training war which you are planning to achieve?
Not too much officially, but I can say that if things go according to plan, it will start in a few days *fingers crossed*

7.) Few days ago you published article about babyboom, so do you have any new idea for the future babyboom?
A babyboom is desperately needed in eNorway, so I’m trying to shape the government right now so we would be ready to handle many new players. The Kickstart project is one of those, but also the changes done to Heimevernet (div 1&2 military branch) and the Minister of Education and Citizen Development. One of the MoE’s responsibility is to use a citizen scanner to welcome citizens just recently registered in the game and ensure they get the proper follow-up so they keep playing.

Another thing that I’m trying to make clear is that a government can only do so much in order for a baby-boom to happen, the actual contributors is every single citizen of eNorway, for them to invite people into the game from all over Norway.

8.) What are you doing or planing to do to keep players active?
I hope to inspire to stay active, getting citizens involved, but recently I’ve been gently whipping a few in-active Congress members, because I think an active Government and Congress is needed in order to have our citizens active. The training war we hope to start soon is also something that I think will really inject excitement into the game, and hopefully they will remain active for a long time after!

9.) Last month there was some problems with congress and government, how do you plan to prevent it from happening all over again?
Actually, that was one of the major inspirations to become CP. Before elections I drafted a proper set of Congress rules, and together with Che Kukaken we managed to create a set of laws that each Congress member must follow, along with defined punishment for breaking the laws. This has so far had great effect, and we see Congress members respecting these laws and I really hope this good trend continue.

10.) What would you change in eRepublik?
Definitely the Economy! The Rocket Factory acted like a little patch but it is still limping hard.
The political module could also do with “some” changes, it is a bit simplified as it is now. I would love to create official government jobs, and be able to define them with proper authorization for their respective tasks. Many, many more things I would like to change and improve, but mentioning them all would take forever 😉

11.) Where do you see eNorway for couple of months?
I would love to see eNorway with, at least, twice as many citizens as we have now, with a high activity level. As I mentioned before, the citizens are the key to creating a babyboom, and active citizens will get inspired to invite their friends to play along.

12.) Do you have anything to say to the Croats?
Keep fighting hard! I hope we can continue, and even improve, the good relations we have between our countries and share experiences together. You have a great ambassador in dixib, who is also part of my MoFA team, so we should have a great link of communication between us 🙂

13.) Do you want to say something in the end?

I would like to thank the citizens of eNorway for the support electing me as CP, I hope I’ve managed to respect their votes with my actions. Huge thanks to my Ministers for doing an awesome job, and to the Congress for being helpful in discussions and implementing the proposals we’ve made!
And thanks to the readers of this who’ve managed to come so far through my ramblings! 🙂
