Interview with Congressman Speedcat McNasty

Day 1,327, 01:20 Published in USA USA by portcolumbus

Here it is, the second interview with a sitting Congressman, and the 3rd I have done this week. I thank those who have read this, and special thanks to the last interviewee John Jay for using that shoutbox to promote this paper. Readership as doubled in the last 3 weeks alone, and I hope to attract a more broad audience by getting governmental officials to do these interviews.

Interview:

1. Do you believe that the current leadership can lead American through the times of recovery?

Beats me. Truly no clue. Anyone that says they believe is probably in the Executive somewhere.
Blank is in a win/win position however. If we do get rolling and win a bunch of regions back (more then likely we will, its extremely difficult to keep a large country down for long) then he can look like a Savior. If we keep getting pounded then ultimately the blame lies with Glove for invading Spain in his first term over multiple objections, that's really what started all this. Nobody cared in the beginning as we were kicking major ass.. but then Admin changes some rules and we're not as strong as we were for sure.

tl;dr
Win = BK is a hero. Lose = Was handed a shit situation to begin with.

You have to understand, last months Executive Cabinet activity level was quite simply atrocious. Combination of personnel choices, summer activities and being blasted to bits just made for a godawful mix of idontgiveashit.
So, if Blank has ANY activity daily then he's already ahead in the game. He's on track to best the activity level in the media aspect.. WHPR on day 1304 and the next was on 1317 without any afterwords until Blank took office.
Granted the media module blows and most older players get their info elsewhere, but that's a huge gap when speaking to your two clicker population.
I don't blame the previous Media person, when there isn't much being said where you can see it you can't really write anything.

2. What do you think will be needed in order to make a full recovery after the long period of wars?

Honestly? Luck and some major ass kissing.

Priority in my cabinet was in Defense and in Foreign Affairs. All other Secretary positions were minor imo. Those two slots will control how quickly we recover if at all.
I had asked my choice for SoS to make a list of countries gauge an idea of what levels of support were out there. Inside and outside of our Alliance.
From my contacts I had found that even after all that has passed there is a ton of love from some of our old allies on the other side.

So the key truly would be to somehow break ONE down. Having 25+ little MPP's does nothing if the majority of your current Allies dislike you, don't trust you to be where you're supposed to be and others won't plan with us to help. A new month may give us better relations in areas that we didn't have last month.
Not bagging on Glove, he was doing as much as possible behind the scenes to get us support. But honestly, a lot of people (Allies included) simply wanted the eUS to get wiped.

Blank will have to get Defense and State to work together hand in hand. Begging, stealing and dealing for military support in key regions. Promising whatever we can to help people in exchange.

Its not going to be easy at all. ONE has a death grip on the game right now, just going to take time until the wheel turns and things change.

Even then there won't be a full recovery for quite some time as its not in the best interest of Admin for that to happen. Wars mean gold is being spent. Gold being spent means someone is buying. Yes, they have accidently nerfed their own MasterCard Tanks since full on gold tanking doesn't seem to be nearly what it was. I would imagine that will change soon and then we'll see.

3. The President says it will take 2 months for the nation to regain all the lost regions, do you agree, and if not, how long will it take?

See my above answer. He's guessing as if ONE really wanted to they could just keep us down. I don't think they could wipe up off the map for long periods of time. We're simply too large with regions and population. But the 'thrill' of wiping us is gone now. We'll recover, but nobody knows what the timetable will be.

4. Regarding the recent issues within the USWP, do you have any comments about it?

Part 1
Its hard to answer this really as I'm a lifer. I've been in USWP since I could join a party and other then moving over to the brief APF debacle, I've never left. So obviously I'm biased as hell. I love my party. Is it perfect? Hell no. There is a reason I never wanted to be PP. Its just a dynamic that I never wanted to have.
I\'m on the Executive Board Emeritus. Fancy name for retired member who once did something on the active EB and was liked enough to be asked to stick around.
Some EBE are brilliant and contribute. Some just hang around and pipe in when something is needed. But mainly its just a group of Lifers.

As far as Stanley goes. I had a pretty good idea what was coming, not the whole thing or anything, but the logs that PrinceFigs had let out and Stan\'s quasi-answers in private led me to believe that the logs were in fact 100% correct. Which, in hindsight... they were. Funny thing is, it\'s been mentioned that there were these two super secret rooms. One is #eb-secret, which was made when the EB had a reason to suspect there was a major leak in the party leadership. The other is #musketeers. That was created by Cerb as a boys club... place to grabass, talk about rl and game without it being a big deal. Cerb, Zcia, Ligtreb, Josh Frost, Jasper Ferguson and Shada Aeon were the musketeers when I joined. I have no idea who was before me. Basically it was when the majority of those people retired/quit. All that was left were me and Ligtreb. With the revival of all the old people, Cerb started the room up again. He added some other people over time, SweetBags, DisDick to name a couple. Stan was given access when I was gone, so no clue the reasoning or whatnot there. Doesn't matter, point is its a place to chew the erep fat without worries. Generally its real life crap happenings.

Part 2

I'm the only person I know of that has access to both rooms. If there are some evil logs out there I don't have them, and while I don't have a bnc my program logs the last 25000 lines. I can go back pretty far. So that should be put to rest.

I still have zero idea of Stan's ultimate goal. Everything he has said afterwords really doesn't add up to anything that he did or said before. He wanted to rock the ship and rebuild it... but yet all he really did is close off almost any change a newer player had to get support to be PP. I guarantee you that there will not be someone fresh and new gain the PP without massive outside help. The established members won't let someone gain their trust again.

Which is the true crime of all this. Had Stan simply just done it... said, I'm the PP, I have the game mechanics behind me and either I'm starting over, be it with a new forum, new Executive Board members, whatever, unless you're on board with me. He could have. Instead he kinda halfassed it. Fired Pfeiffer but didn't push to remove him from EBE (which he could have). Claimed to want new faces but left older ones in charge and in power.

I had a talk with Stan on Congressional election night about the whole why bit. And told him I'd never release the logs, and won't. But basically it just struck me as bizarre. His answers made sense, just did not jibe with what he did.

Ultimately look at what changed? What did Stan change? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Same people he detested, he worked with. New people he brought in, had already BEEN there before. Other then losing some Congressional seats... which will probably cause more sniping for PARTY rather then the PERSON, which is what really should matter.

Part 3

Every major party has its leadership group. Feds have an almost rotating PP group, Libs have a solid core, I'd bet AMP will always have SVV, JJ, Haliman somewhere helping/guiding.
So do I see the EB/EBE as evil or somehow being the people in the smoking room making the power deals? No. When is the last time a USWP core member was CP? Been a long while.
Fact is, the USWP is simply an easy target. Its big. It has a reputation for defending itself, even when it probably shouldn't and would be better off ignoring things. So when things go south, people just live to pile on. Plus honestly, there isn't much else in this game to do besides bitch and moan anymore it seems.

Again, the true damage in what Stan did is that he simply did it wrong. He could have been great. Super smart, very well liked. He could have been one of the greats imo. He could have made whatever changes he wished in either a short term or, best, a long term adjustment. He chose to go a different lulz'y way.
(Note, whomever stalked Stan irl needs to get a clue. This is a damn game. There isn't ANYTHING that happens here that should reflect on real life. We're all playing a game... its the internet. Get over yourself for hating him irl for this GAME thing.)

I love my party. The majority of my close game friends are in there. Through better or worse, I'll always be a Zombie.
Here it is, the interview I did with USWP Congressman Speedcat McNasty. Hope you all enjoyed, we have two more interviews, each should be posted on July 9, and if I get behind with my life, July 10.
