Interview ~ the Empress Day, Taiwan side

Day 1,605, 01:52 Published in Japan China by Chise E Tamai

For the Empress Day of April, it has been announced that this would be a joined event of eJapan and eROC. In here, I would present an interview I had with SORA Chung, the person on Taiwan side who runs the event, to present what the Taiwanese may have in mind about it.

1. Hello, SORA Chung. Would you like to introduce yourself?

Hello everyone, I am SORA Chung; just call me SORA. I am a member of the Outer Heaven MU, and the person who’s running the Empress Day event on the Taiwan side. Nice to meet you!

2. Why do you want to run this event? What kind of character do you personally prefer, and would love to see to be present in the contest?

_ゝ`)クックック…

Why do I run this event? For the Otaku culture, of course!

Many citizens of eROC and eChina are already fans of the Japanese media culture (refer to the animate character avatars if you doubt), and I am not satisfied at just having the citizens of these two nations exchanging manga or pics. I dream of a united alliance that is to be based on culture; to be more particular, I would like to see people like me, fans of animate and manga, to be able to join up our hands together! I would like to see the culture to be not just limited within individual eNations, but to become something international; and to make everyone understand, that we, the animate fans, are never alone!

…(cough) Ah, a bit too excited, I was.

Anyhow, I wish that both citizens of eJapan and eROC can fully enjoy the event; the world should not be determined by nationality, but by hobbies and culture : )

Favourite type of female characters? Well, anyone in favour of – Yandere? Lolis with silent and mysterious figures are my favourite! I believe that somebody in eJapan must share at least partially have the same interest as I do!

(Note: eJapan did nominate Gasai Yuno and Katsura Kotonoha before for Empress..so the Yandere condition is met. As for the Lolis; hey, voice yourself a bit, United Lolies!)

3. I see that you name your newspaper “Original Hentai News”. What’s the motivation behind that? I also see that you have posted many manga (sadly, Chinese only) and pics in your articles..not worrying about admins?

Well. I believe that the name “Original Hentai News” would be impacting enough that everyone would remember it..and I do admit that I am a hentai fan 😛

But anyhow, the real reason why I named it Hentai News was because, my MU, Outer Heaven, can be abbreviated to OH…same as Original Hentai…so…(also meaning that there are many…er I mean…some…hentai fans in Outer Heaven..)

To be honest, the main theme of my articles usually lie in the pics; so if you see a lot of loli pics, it probably means that I happen to really want to share the pics, and just decided typed something eRep-related as excuse of publishing an article 😛 From now on, I will try to provide English translations if possible, with my limited English ability.

Let Forfeit points be the mark of my glory!

4. It seems like you are deeply interested in the Japanese culture…extrapolate more on that?

Most of the eJapan citizens probably do love the Japanese culture, right? Or else you probably won’t have picked eJapan as your nation 😛

For me, my favourites include aminate, manga, and games (ero game included); I also read Japanese mystery novels. Some of these elements do exist in the Western culture, but I have found way in which the Japanese culture present them to be highly preferable…probably because I am also an Asian? Or it’s just simply me being Otaku : )

5. Umm right. So, what are some of your favourite animates?

For the new season – Fate/Zero! 咲-Saki- is also one of my favourites. I like Fate/Zero because I read the original novel, and that the animate itself is in high quality; the later one is because I like mah-jong..and..well..the voice of Kana Hanazawa! 香菜たん……

Oh and yes, I play the Japanese mah-joh, too, in the tenhou website. Feel free to drop in to have a section with me!

Older animates that I remember as the best classics..well…works of Hayao Miyazaki are examples of such. The more recent ones that I like would be Clannad After Story and Code Geass; recommended for anyone who watches animate!

6. Ah OK. So what do you think about the present state of eJapan, and what do you think of the future?

Umm. To be honest, I would like to see eJapan to have more population, and to be able to present itself as a friend with Taiwan – in the perspective of both military and culture. Taiwan is, after all, one of the nations that had been affected by the Japanese culture the most (we aren’t neighbours in RL for nothing). From the point of view of a Taiwanese, I am still worried about the Koreans, and how that had led to war…

However, I do have faith in your love to the culture aspect of Japan; events such as the Empress Day cannot exist without been persistence and love for the culture! There might be disputes in military or politics, but I believe that there is one thing that we can have in common – our love towards to the Japanese culture. That’s wish that the war and disputes can eventually be fixed with friendship! Let us to be able to cross the nations on expressing our perspectives! Let a union of alliance, not based on military, but based on culture, to be formed! I sincerely hope that one day, eJapan and eROC can see each other as friend, back to back.
