Inactivity
MrMunstr
Ultimately, I was going to offer my design services in return for donations of any size. Though this country is too inactive to propose any incentives for 'active players' - considering eAustralian 'active players' only make up 0.4% of the eWorld.
I was told that IRC and the Forums were active, neither of which seem to actually be 'actively' populated. Sure, there's a bunch of people sitting in IRC, yet none of them respond.
The donations through this program were going to go toward new player incentives, yet we have an average of 1 - 2 new players every 2 or 3 days.
I was willing to help - until I noticed how inactive this community is itself - I don't want to invite players to a community that seems to be doing less than I have done in the past 36 hours.
For the time being..
I've already been judged for the actions I've taken regarding initiatives.
I like how the people who do f**k all decide to comment regarding how my idea won't work also.
I'm just going to sit back and watch. I don't want to help a community that can't even help itself.
Sorry if you hate the truth.

Sorry things have worked out that way for you. 😕
Yes, the community is guilty as charged of being inactive (myself also, in case you think I am a hypocrite). There are a great many armchair critics around. People who love to dissect other people's ideas in detail but never offer a positive contribution of their own. Six months ago I stood where you are now.
Frankly, I have tired of flogging a dead horse. As I'm very busy with work these days, I went "inactive". Nobody here seems to care enough to do anything. We even have a CP who would rather make a silly picture article than explain to the public what is going on...
Your not alone in that book Ilene and MrMunster. It is the sad reality of it, 'you can drag the horse to water, but you can't force it to drink it '.
Also I endorsed, not for you giving up, more for actually trying to begin with
Cheers dude. I'm going to work on my erep website for now.

Perhaps make calculators and whatnot available, or turn it into something else, not sure. Though working on that site seems to have more benefit that wasting effort here 😛 Sorry to say.
That was what tipped it for me.
These campaign posts are worse than what I expect from 6th Graders running for Class Representative or some crap.
It's just a game after all - if these people are happy playing like kids, so be it. Will just have to treat future players like kids also 🙂
Gone are the good old days of campaigning 🙁 I know by my 5th time I was running out of things to write, but I still did a paper up
It's great that they're posting something at least - though players from other countries actually take this seriously, where eAustralia.. not as much. I'm willing to help work toward a common goal, ONLY after our 'leaders' initiate an idea, I don't feel like being picked out again 😃
Unfortunately the political module has, as it always was, been most neglected if not actively destroyed by the admins. Congress articles weren't ever just done for the fun of them, you had to write them in order to get your name out to get voted in.
As we increase numbers of members running for congress, party leaders are going to have to start writing articles to try and get votes because arguably, the ADP is the only party with a consistent media presence.
Well, I supported everything you've suggested. Keep in mind that we're really in a growth stage, so accept that things will take time. Over the last few weeks there have been a number of new players who have become pretty active. I remember, many years ago, when I was the new guy for about six months because of how bad our new player retention was.
Even in our most active past, we have always been a fairly small community, and considering that size at least averagely active.
I'm going to try and create a "Welcome Site" for new eAustralians.
It would save on the mishap of new players being neglected and being unsure of how to start playing.
If people have created articles previously, which contain beginner information, I'd be more than happy to request to use them, as well as place a link back to the contributing person, along with a "Credits" mention.
So far, I'm stuck on the design (Check here), though hopefully will have something good within 2 weeks.
Glad you guys are understanding, rather than pecking at me for resigning from my initiatives so early 😛
This would be helpful. I joined this game six years ago, hung around for a month or two before things in RL blew up for me and only just returned to find so much had changed. There's a complexity in understanding the dynamics of politics in eAus, largely because I don't understand the history. I read the articles posted and stay informed as best as I can but it doesn't make things any easier. A welcome site with key detail on the history of politics, both domestic and internationally, will go a long way to educating new players.
I've had players offer advice and assistance which is great, at the moment I am just plodding along trying to get myself away from treading water to proper self sufficiency and contributing in a meaningful manner. I wouldn't say new players are neglected entirely, at least not from my personal experience.
I am with impression that you go to school with pen and notepad like an ordinary boy. But after every lesson you cut/burn your marks and you go back home with clear sheets again. What happened with your previous article this time?
Gave up on a party where only 1 member was actually in contact with me for the past week. Need I explain more?
The article was glorifying the APP - yet I no longer support it.
Even if your last article was a mistake it is better to keep it instead of deleting when changing opinion.
You shuld try activity of other country with x2-x3-x4 players to see that actually there are good activity here, considering the activity %.
On the other side, for every consideration like this, could be useful to understand the average age of the community to know more about their RL commitments.
We all want to have plenty of time to play, but this is not possible.
I think that is better to talk about what people do when they can stay online. I think also that might be good to aim for the best use of this time for the community, without presuming to ask people to play longer than they can.
I come from a country of this game with more players who spend more time in this game, but from my point of view they do much less for the community of what is done here. That is why I move my point of view on quality and not quantity.
