In support of Gilroy: Why character counts

Day 459, 19:02 Published in USA USA by Gaius Julius

Oh dear its congressional election time already? As some of you may already know, The Federalist party has endorsed Gilroy as our candidate for the Maine Congressional district. Last month Gilroy was the only federalist to be elected to a congressional office. He represented more than a seat to our party. He represented the culmination of our hard work, party positions and most importantly our parties aspirations. In his one term in office he has demonstrated that ethics and a positive work standard exist even in Congress.

Standing his ground
People who tell it like it is are few and far to come by. Luckily for us Gilroy is one of those people. Gilroy's opponent (a former federalist Dillon Smith) has attacked his position going so far as to ask why he would vote against tax proposals that were voted in with a majority. He wants to know why Gilroy has stuck with his lower taxes mantra when it is obviously not what Congress is dictating. I personally applaud Gilroy, having a little back bone is good. Gilroy went into Congress with values, and he has stuck to them. Many other people treat values like hobbies, toting them when they are convenient. If this is the type of Congress that Gilroy's opponent wants then he can move to eFrance.

Sound Reasoning
Another strong characteristic is the ability to listen and compromise. Being the Congressional Chairman for the Federalist party I have had a great deal of interaction with Gilroy, our PP Alby and Tiacha our VPP. Together with members input we have worked to formulate a strong list of objectives and goals that we think congress should address. In working with Gilroy I have seen that he demonstrates an aptitude for listening and absorbing everything said. he then takes all this and factors in his own beliefs and ideas, the result is a cohesive plan that represents everyone's input. Gilroy's opponent says that he does not post enough and he is not active enough. Since when do post counts matter? I can post a dozen times but all of these posts may be nonsense and trash. It is not posts and messages that will preserve our eNation and make for a better future. No well though out plans not rash decisions will create for a better tomorrow.

Oh the promises
Dillion Smith claims that he will help his state by getting a new defense system for it. If he knew anything about Congress he would know this promise is useless. Congress and the Government keep a working list of what state gets what DF or Hospital next. One Congressman cant change that list. Secondly, a DF in Maine would ve the most epic waste of money ever! Maine is bordered by the UK, Ireland and Canada. If any of those countries attack us anytime soon then we have a lot bigger issues then protecting Maine. Don't we want a congressman who understands this?

So that's about it, my basic message is: Gilroy did a amazing job his first time around, why change that. Smith likes to say hes the change eUSA and Maine needs. But why change something that's working better than what Smith can do?
