Improving the game part 1
Gibbomd
So the stupid missions have forced me to do something I may have done at some point anyway. Here is my first ever article after a billion years in the game.
My first idea for improving the game is fight mechanics.
I think that we should each enter the war with two numbers, energy (as it is now) and HP. The latter can be calculated any way you like, but for the purpose of this article I will stick up the straw man figure of strength * 1000. For me that would be about 650m.
You would then be able to choose your opponent (starting list at minute 1 is the citizens of the country you are attacking, but this list would grow to include anyone who hits on the other side). Your damage reduces their HP (as well as doing what it normally does).
The difference is that once someone's HP is reduced to zero they can no longer take part in the who war (yes the whole war).
Benefits:
You could combine to take out their tanks in battle 1 and they could do the same
Entering the war for allies at the right time would be crucial (as you don't appear in the list until you fight the first fight)
Personal vendettas would arise and I would love to see a history of "you have been killed by xxx the most times"
Battles 8+ would be a question of who is left standing and would require communication and coordination to ensure that late battles are won
BHs would become expensive early, but potentially cheap late, leading to a personal vs country ethical battle
Cons:

Definitely an original idea and I do like it.
As you asked for Con's and suggestions I have a few.
Firstly, if people won't show up in the 'Fight List' until they fight, wouldn't that mean everyone will wait until the last moment to drop in? This could lead battles being slow burners, then explosive at the end. So maybe, not entirely a Con, but something worth thinking over.
The other, I suggest being able to recover your health somehow. At least at the end of each round. Some battles can last the best part of a whole day and I don't think anyone fancies sitting around twiddling their thumbs because they got knocked out of a war at 8.05am. This may be the perfect opportunity to re-introduce Hospitals.

Reminds me too much of Cybernations.

Perhaps could work, I personally want them to rework divisions to be based on strength, not level.

Would certainly make the military aspect of the game a lot more interesting. Would require strategic planning by MU commanders, and very close liaison with other MU's and allies. Voted
The battle system certainly could use an overhaul of some kind, but I believe that fixing the economy should take priority. I'm not sure of current prices but it's not worth my while continuing to run my iron mine which I bought in a fit of misguided enthusiasm early in the game, before I had figured out some of the more subtle factors. I'd agree with Massacar - basing divisions on strength rather than level would perhaps even out the playing field somewhat.
