IMPORT TARIFFS 8% - [NEWS]
Rufus1988
The change has begun. After a long debate the majority of Congress approved the import tariff increase. The Congress not only supported a tax reform, they even committed in addition to Kosher Program.
Thanks for each honourable ladies and gentlemen of Congress who stand by me.
There were many doubts about tax modify, but I am absolutely sure, it is the interest of our economy.

"...the low import tariffs or the reduction does only induce economic decline, and destroy our companies. It does not support the productivity, it does not support the equal competition, it is against our national interests.
So I say No, No, No!..."
The Kosher Movement was a good choice. Most of us join to the movement, and day by day we choose home products. But it is not enough. It is necessary to increase the productivity, and create new jobs.
We established the Kosher Stores Fund, and support the stores to create new jobs. The new tariffs reduces the cost of subsidy per worker from ~12 NIS to ~6 NIS, we can make more jobs, we become more productive.
Our economy were strangled by the foreign investors, but for now we made a step forward to equalize the competition without discourage the exporters. The foreign investors will not get extra profit in our small market.
The task will be hard. It demand sacrifice from the community. But as long as we're stand together and undertake the daily struggles, we will not lose.

I don't agree, but we'll see in a month the changes this has made on both our market and our tax revenue.
I also don't think the Kosher project is a good idea, as paying employers a part of the salary they give, is just the state interfering in the local market and making jobs artificially more paying. Of course they aren't really better in that case, because the citizens pay for that increase indirectly with their tax money.
Yes we support the local market, yes we help them to create more jobs, yes we make a competitive economic environment in a program where the community, and the government stand hand in hand to make this country a better place.
And what a policy is which leaves the country and its hard working entrepreneurs be strangled by the foreign companies? We see its results.
I am proud that we can increase the productivity within the limits of the free market competition. Our mission is to set the economy on its own feet. Our duty is to eliminate its obstacles. And of course, we will do it.
Well you haven't regarded anything I wrote...
Raising the Import Tax definitely hurts the competition on the market.
Paying people for raising the amount of money they offer in the job market isn't giving the people more money because you're just giving them back money they payed in taxes.
We'll see in a month what this change and the Kosher Project together have done to the market, the results might be good but I highly doubt that.
It's only redistribution. Essentially you are argueing for a lessaize faire government.
I'm on the other hand in favour of actively shaping our economy through active incentives and redistribution to make it stronger.
Our economy is far too small to leave it at mercy of the global economy.
I understand what you're saying but I don't agree with you.
In my opinion it's more important to have lower prices on the market than to have more money stay in the country. If people buy products more cheaply they're going to have more money to build up factories as well as simply to buy more products on the market, therefore driving our economy, or our military power, depending on what they choose to spend the money on.
The way I see it paying employers to artificially increase the salaries payed in eIsrael isn't even redistribution, it's giving everyone's tax money to specific individuals. People won't gain any money through that though, because everybody including the individuals enjoying the salary increase are going to pay more on the market because raising the import tax increases the prices on the market, so they just pay that money back in taxes indirectly.
there seems to be alot of effort put into this kosher project. too bad all this effort is not put into something more productive.
