Igor Thunderbrow for Congress February 2009

Day 459, 14:38 Published in Ireland Ireland by Igor Thunderbrow

Daoine na hÉireann,

With only a few days left with our current congress I for one am most dissatisfied. Besides for a few genuine hard workers, congress has been incredibly quiet and has managed in one month to pas only 3 proposals, none of which were put in front of the public.

Change is needed in congress and that is why I am putting my name forward for Dublin's Congressional elections.

My Platform for Government:

Communication
If there is one area where the past Congress should be criticised it is in their lack of communication with the public. In my previous four terms in congress I have always worked hard to keep in contact with our citizens so that I know that I am voting for the good of the people. I also wish to give a weekly update of congressional dealings so that you know how I have voted and are aware of the issues facing your congress.

Demoocracy is the "rule of the people", therefore you need to be involved more in congresss and I pledge to keep in regular contact with the public and do what is best for you. It is your government.

Progress
As a country we must learn from our mistakes and constantly work to improve on what we already have. The area where I feel we need to work hardest is in our state owned companies. They are most definately of great benefit to our newer players and have worked satisfactorily until now. However they could work a lot better.

1) We need to ensure that we never again have no jobs available for new citizens
2) We need to expand the initiative so that we can afford to supply our troops
3) We need to stop selling on the markets and instead stockpile so that:
a) We do not interfere with already healthy markets
b) In times of need the government has the stockpile to keep the population going until the market becomes healthy again

Unity
As a member of the Irish Union Party I am committed to the unity of the eIrish people.

1) As a centrist politician I believe in the merits of middle ground politics and that there are positives of all ideologies. I firmly believe that eIrish people of all ideologies need to work together and that that is the only way that we cna do what is best for the eIrish people. I want a congress that involved everyone, regardless of political beliefs, to vote for what is best for eIreland.

2) eIreland as an island should be united. In the past I have been involve in negotiations for the unification of our nation and our people and me with some success. I wish to continue to work on this important issue and work with the British administation in a peaceful manner to bring about Ireland's unification.

Action
Mahatma Gandhi once said "A man is the sum of his actions, of what he has done, of what he can do. Nothing else." . The same can be said for a nation. eIreland has been infortunately absent on the International stage. I want this to change and as Monoster of Defense I have fought for IDF involvement in peace keeping missions abroad. We need to take action and help defend small nations in their bid for freedom and independance. As past victims of occupation I feel strongly that we should fight for other nations freedom.
