If I Could Change One Thing
If I were to add one thing into this game it would be what we already have. I would make our fake offsite fun part of the real thing. The problem with this game is that all of the fun is made up, it really has no impact an what actually happens.
I'd like there to be an official Vice President, Chief of Staff, Secretary of Media, etc. The game would be much more fun if the admins could make this fake stuff of ours real. You know, actual laws. A possible thing would be for each country's constitution to actually exist. Laws would be real, and if you broke them there would be fines or things of the nature.
The problem is we can rant about a player, but they still have just as much power in-game. The goal of this would be to effectively take away someone's rights as a Congressman, not just forum privileges.
We try to make this game more fun. It's worked, hasn't it? All I'm asking for is for our fake rules to become real. Is being Vice President important? It is to us but once again has no actual impact on the game. We have created a game inside a game, and a combination of these games would result in even more fun.

And technically mine too. :3
Vice President the position doesn't matter. Occasionally Vice President the person does.
@Henry
If the VP is given something to do they're productive, generally they aren't

If there was a way to make us buy gold to do these things you speak of...
Let's see... 5 shout a day limit that made you want to pay gold for citizen ads. Gold charge to run for office so that not everybody would go "Gee I will run for -blank- office just for the lulz.". Contracts, newspaper subscriptions WITH ALERTS, players who abide by a Constitution and laws because we agreed to and it was the honorable thing to do. Citizens who shunned those who dissed the Constitution and laws that we agreed to instead of saying "Well there is nothing we can do, I guess they can do what ever they like.". Also people who worked within the system to change things they didn't like.
But I'm just a troublemaker. What do I know.
I'd like to see the option of different types of governments as determined by the citizens. Amarchocapitalist, Miniarchist, Constitutional Republic, Majoritarian Democracy, Progessive, North Korean style Totalitarian Gulag, etc.
@Clarissa Olson Bear: I cannot believe you forgot to include Somalis Customary Law.
@Lysander Spooner II: Who do you think I am? Poppy Montgomery on "Unforgettable"?

What duties Vice President have in America and why he is important?
First Galactic Empire = The end result of our Imperialistic tendencies?
First Galactic Empire = The end all of every tendency
Hail Emperor Palpati
There is no government beside the Emperor!
Serve or be destroyed by the Death Star.
ID LIKE YOU ALL TO BUY MORE GOLD.

Contracts were part of the game way back, I believe it became to much work for admin team to enforce.
@Aeriala, I started playing shortly after contracts were removed but remember the ruckus and complaints. I do not mean to be negative about your comment, I understand you are just suggesting a plausible reason for the removal. However I must point out that all the things that have been removed from the game "to make my gaming experience more enjoyable", like contracts, are now being suggested as desirable by kooguy. Why is that? Possibly because players like he and I would like something to do beside MU stuff and clicking the fight button. Also I would point out that admins seem to be plenty busy doing "specials" like q6 stuff and gold discounts, oh don't forget missions designed to suck up tanks and candy bars. 😃
"What duties Vice President have in America and why he is important?"
No real duties. Depends on the people. Often times they act as a trouble shooter, an extra CoS, extra Department of Interior person. Help a bit everywhere. Others do jack squat.
Good article.
Vanek would hold the elitist title.
the Galactic Empire is an example of a totalitarian system 😉
