I see an Election Coming

Day 652, 12:30 Published in Canada Canada by Goran Thrax

The Presidential elections are mere days away. A great deal of attention is of course focused on them. Several individuals have put themselves forward as possible candidates. To dispel the rumors, I am not one of them. I've said for a couple weeks that I do not wish to be President, I do not feel I am the best candidate for the post. Perhaps when I have more experience and a firmer grasp on all aspects of the game I will seek the nomination for President.

In this election several great Canadians have sought nomination, incumbent President Jacobi recently received the support of his home Party. Banach approached several parties looking to be nominated. And of course, William Duncan. It's been a difficult choice, but with the support of many members of the CNC on IRC, and through PMs, it's become clear that I am not alone in my support of William Duncan, and his running mate Derek Harland as our endorsed Candidate for the Presidency.

On a personal level, my support for William Duncan has never wavered, I in fact asked William Duncan and Derek Harland to run for the Presidency some weeks ago. Canada is in need of the finest leadership at all levels while enemy forces still occupy almost half the nation.

I do not intend to slight sitting President Jacobi, or his Cabinet, they have done a remarkable job over the last month recapturing occupied territory and coordinating our allies. However rifts are growing within Canadian society, if these divides widen further I fear our forward momentum, and morale will be in jeopardy. Which is why I feel it is crucial to support a candidate who has worked tirelessly on behalf of Canada, and sought to forge unity, time and again. So once again I was left with but one ticket to support, the team of William Duncan.and Derek Harland.

At this time in our nations history, I think it is vitally important that set aside any personal animosity, to pull together as a nation, when our nation needs us most. I ask all Canadians to do precisely that, on election day.
