I-RO-HA, 3rd special part
Kyonkyon
Today I write about how to say correct Japanese words.
Japanese is very simple.
In English there is no standard sound for a letter.
For example the a is different in the word gate and differn in bad.
In Japanese it is very easy. You read what you see.
There are 5 vowels in Japan.
a, i, u ,e and o.
a is like a in cat
i is like i in sick
u is like oo in moon
e is like e in bed
o is like o in dog
The 5 vowels can also have double length.
If double you say them twice as one.
If a, i and u are double you write
aa, ii and uu.
but if
e is double you write ee, but sometimes ei.
o is double you write oo, but sometimes ou.
I don't know what is it like this.
By the way, sometimes you do not write double vowels in english.
For example Tokyo, is actually, Toukyou.
Or Hokkaido is actually Hokkaidou.
Also, some times we write double o as oh.
Do you know Yu-Gi-Oh?
It is actually Yuu-gi-ou.
That is all for now.
I think you can improve your Japanese.
Americans sometimes call Karate as "karati".
Because in english e has i sound.
But in Japanese e is always e, like in bed.
If you are in Japan call it Karate with e like e in bed.
Next time I write about consonants.

"a is like a in cat"
You mean "a is like u in cut" 😉
sorry my english is not good.
I can not understand difference of a in cat and u in cut.
I mean a is not like a in gate.
Kana sample: あ(a) い(i) う(u) え(e) お( o)
my favourite part in the article
was the yugioh!!!
has anyone seen the yugioh abridged series!!!
if you havent you gotta see it!!!
In phonetic alphabet cat sounds: kæt
other words in which 'a' sounds like that: black, ambient, band
and cut sounds: kʌt
other words in which 'u' sounds like that: under, buck, utterly
You'd need to hear those words said by a native speaker to understand the difference better though
