I Am Honored. Now Let's Get to Work!

Day 656, 07:51 Published in Ireland Ireland by Edana Savage

Congratulations to President Patton! Brian and Fionn, you ran a good race. I was very pleased with what I saw there. Brian especially, I am very impressed with your ideas on free trade.

Congratulations to the Cabinet members. I am humbled and honored to be amongst such wonderful people.

I have quite a task set before me, but one that I am passionately committed to. As it was not that long ago that I was new citizen, I can empathize with the challenges that they face. I have reached out to new citizens to find out what they have the most trouble with and this is what I found.

These points primarily apply to very new players just starting out in eRepublik.

1. Getting connected. Knowing where to go and how to navigate the game. Sure you can look up things on wiki all day long, but there are some nuances to the game that you can't get from reading. Each country has it's own unique culture and history. The only way a new citizen will get a feel for that is to have a mentor and to immerse themselves in the forums and read the articles.

2. Getting healthy. I didn't realize at first just how important this was at first. I had to find out the hard way, and I was lucky in that I didn't get too far below 40. I have encountered several citizens who are struggling with this. They didn't have a clear understanding on how health affected their play. Especially those who tend to shy away from combat.

3. Getting employment and keeping it. Having a better understanding on how a company works. You don't really get a true sense of that from wiki. Most new players don't realize how their day's work affects the bottom line. Let me give you an example. I work for a gun company. When I work, I produce two guns for that company to sell. The healthier I am the more productive I am. I didn't know that at first. I didn't realize the impact my actions had. I was more focused on how many IEP's I was receiving. For me, knowing this sooner would have been helpful in the development of my strategy. There is a lot more complexity to add to this particular point, but I think you understand where I'm going.

The second issue is attracting citizens from other countries who have mastered the basics of the game, and are looking for a place to set down roots. This presents another set of challenges. I would like to speak with those citizens who have had this experience. I would like to know what challenges you faced, what made things easier, and why you ended up staying in eIreland. I would like to have a deputy who can focus on this aspect of citizenship. Please PM me if you are interested.

So to summarize, this is what I'm looking for.

1. Deputies that address the issues of brand spanking new citizenship.
2. Deputies that address the issues of moving to eIreland from another country.
3. People willing to mentor in both situations.
4. Someone who is good at tracking and doing quality checks. (We have to measure results to see how effective our efforts are after all.)

PM me if you are interested. Otherwise I will come for you. 😉 and "persuade" you to serve. Which could involve me pestering you until you give in. I am very stubborn. 😃
