How to Fix "Rising"

Day 951, 11:22 Published in USA USA by mjmnum1

Step 1: Give a hospital in the uptown, identical to the residential district, where a soldier could spend part of his day healing to recover wellness. (Aeros mentioned it on the forums.)

Step 2: Automatically have a hospital in EVERY REGION. It can be low quality, low duration, whatever. Make the capital a hospital, something. There just needs to be one in every region automatically, or new players running onto the battlefield will die and have no recourse but to buy gold in order to increase their wellness. This is bad for you, admin, because a low wellness new player is probably going to quit. If s/he quits, that’s one less player that could buy into your gold sinks. Countries could still place additional, better hospitals in the region, but one crappy one is a must.

Step 3: Allow rapid movement in secured territory, behind friendly lines. Define the battlefront as two defender tiles around any invader (and vice versa). Within this zone, movement occurs as now. However, in controlled territory behind this, players can hop on a troop transport or whatever and rapidly move to the battlefront across the board in one turn, so long as they avoid battlefront areas. Waiting to march across the board is boring. Stopping boredom is a good thing, and it adds an extra layer of strategy.

Step 4: Allow respec-ing of companies, for a small fee if you want. This means, if a company owner from V1 gets into a horrible market by accident, he’s not screwed. He can pay a gold and change the sliders on his company. Any work in progress will have to stay with the previous settings, but the next unit will be of the new setting.

Implement these changes, and V2 becomes a bit more livable.
