How Can I Survive?

Day 529, 08:38 Published in USA Israel by Moishe

A new eCitizen is born with Zero Skills and 50 wellness. A low start to be sure but there is potential for anyone that wants to go the distance.

While there are many steps one can take initially to increase experience; things like create an avatar; this article is to demonstrate how truly easy it is to survive those few days immediately following eBirth.

To begin a new eCitizen gets 5 USD in the form of a "New Citizen's Fee". That is paid to them from the eUSA. They should immediately purchase as much Q1 food as they can afford. As of this writing that would be 4 (at the current price of 1.21 USD/each.) So now they are set up with food for the next 4 days.

Next they should get a job. I would recommend something in Manufacturing but that is just my preference both as a Manufacturing worker and as a Manufacturing employer. At the time of this writing there are 5 Manufacturing jobs for Skill Level 0 listed under Job Offers that pay above Minimum Wage (They pay 1.25 USD/day.) There are over a dozen more just in Manufacturing and nearly 40 total. And that is just companies with open Skill Level 0 positions. Most of those companies have more than One job opening so finding a job should not be a problem.

Once the new eCitizen finds a job they should, of course, work. That just gained them 0.50 in Skill and at least another 1 USD in their pocket. On a side note their wellness just dropped by 1 but we will confront this issue in a few minutes. I would also advise training. Yes, that means another wellness point but it is worth it to get started on that daily ritual of "work-train". This is a minimum every eCitizen should practice.

Day Two: Work-Train - Wellness just dropped two more points but you gained one back over night when you ate. Skill level is now 1.0. At this writing there are several Skill Level 1 jobs on the Job Market that pay over 2 USD/day. If, however, you have found a good employer then hang in there for another couple of days.

Day Three: Work-Train - Wellness dropped a bit more but not so much that you can't regain it if you follow the instructions posted by so many of our excellent ePublishers! Skill level is now 1.25.

Day Four: Work-Train - And now your skill has reached 1.50!

Day Five: Work-Train - You should be working someplace that pays at least 4 USD/day. You probably also need to buy more food. Buy Q2. Your Skill level should now be about 1.75.

Day Six: Work-Train - Another 4 USD plus another 0.25 rise in skill! Hurrah! Buy another Q2 food if you need it.

You will soon be at 2 Skill Level - a major milestone. There are quite a few jobs that pay over 4 USD/day for Skill Level 2 employees. Talk to your employer. If they are unwilling to match the offers on the Market then now is the time to change jobs. (Provided you have worked at least three days. If not ask your employer to fire you so you can go elsewhere.) Also you need to buy some more food. Q2 food is at 2.64 USD/each at the present. Buy as many as you can afford.

NOTE: Do not go looking for a job in a Q2 company yet. It may seem to pay more but it will drain 2 Wellness points per day.

And now you are nearing the end of your first week as a new eCitizen. I hope you have been making friends and reading the newspaper articles. Friends are good to have. Most newspaper articles contain some interesting stuff but little useful in your formative days. Still, keep in touch. Post an occasional comment to make yourself known. Try to make it pertinent to the article and, please, try not to demonstrate your newness by posting something goofy.

By now your wellness has probably dropped quite a bit. To get better paying jobs you have to have high wellness. Sure, you can buy a wellness pack if you want to put real world money into this but it is not necessary.

Watch the latest events that show up on your Home Page. You will occasionally see a notice that the USA is involved in a Resistance War or some other military action. Fighting in such actions and getting healed by the local hospital is an easy way to build up that wellness! Just remember you cannot fight if your wellness is below 40. Also the higher the level of the hospital in your home region the more you can be healed. I have an article titled Fighting and Wellness that goes into more detail about this.

I would also recommend that you join the National Guard. They can and will help you in many ways.
