Let’s talk now about what else excites me. Oh, and by the way hello, I’m rainy sunday and I’ve been around back-ends a little while. I don’t often write articles or share my personal views about most matters eRepublik and when I do, it tends to be in personal discussion with close individuals or in one-on-one mentoring when appropriate and the opportunity arises. BUTT I get excited by your enthusiasm and will to excel, whatever your level of progress or area of interest.

This week I had the good fortune to sit down with someone I’ve held in high regard since first impressions, WhyDoIBotherToo. He has proven himself time and again to put national interests before himself or the interests of any party or MU, by words and deeds. He hasn’t sought the spotlight for personal glory but instead has demonstrated excellence in leadership, respect, and dedication to service. I am very excited by his candidacy for President and you should be too!

You’ve held a variety of positions throughout your career, which did you find most beneficial in broadening your own game knowledge?

I think the first month I was a deputy in the NSC was the most enlightening. I learned quite a bit from the people that were in NSC. Not only how to determine which battles should be set to higher priorities, but also how to work with other countries and people. Serving in Derp’s cabinet over the last few months also has been quite beneficial. It actually gave me a reason to log into the game because I was part of something more than just clicking a few buttons and then closing my browser window.

Describe your leadership style.

I am big on collaboration. One person can make all the decisions and lead with an iron fist, but that doesn’t really get others excited for decisions that are made.


What do you see as USA’s biggest challenges?

Apathy. The current climate of the game is to not do anything risky, not just the eUS, but pretty much eWorldwide. This leads to boredom and boredom kills off users.

What are your views on the current state of alliances? Pacifica? Be as specific as prudent.

I think we are in a pretty good alliance and am happy with our current list of Allies. With that being said, the structure of the current alliances are part of the apathy that we currently suffer from within the game.

When gearing up for battle, do you have a lucky pair of underwear or tube socks you put on, or maybe a special battle anthem you sing, or some other voodoo ritual to guide you to victory?

I have the same ritual every time I go into battle. I put on my lucky socks, queue up some Katy Perry, and pound that little red fight button as hard as I can, as often as I can.


I’d like you to name for us two of your greater influences in eRep, but here’s the catch, both must be living citizens and one must be someone ‘lesser known’ in the national or international community. Who are they and how have they influenced you?

One of my greatest influences in this game would be Deepchill, the guy that let me take over the MU he has been in charge of for years. He has been a great leader and friend within the game community. Any time I need advice, he is available.

As for a lesser known influence, that is an easy one. He is my oldest friend in the game and the person that I blame every time I log in, TheNorm. He and I have known each other for about 11 years, having met while playing a game called Guild Wars. He and my now eDead friend Hampton H. Hampton were playing eRep and told me I should join. Little did I know that I would still be alive and kicking almost 9 years later. He was the reason I got into the NSC. He is a great guy, and probably owes me money for something.

What steps do you feel the US government (looking at both the Executive staff and members of Congress) could or should make to improve the day to day quality of life for citizens?

Give them something to do, give people a reason to log into this game.

What steps would you recommend citizens make to improve the quality of their government?

Get involved. Ask questions. Seek out information.

What is your opinion of US immigration regulation and enforcement practices?

While it is a rather strict policy, it is a necessary thing considering how close we were to losing our country a few years ago.

There’s been quite a lot of commotion about a forum exodus, primarily Congress members of SFP and, as I understand it, some from BSP are opting out of participating in formal discussion held in the Legislative Branch boards at eusaforums. Do you have any thoughts or remarks on the matter?

I understand why they chose to do what they did. I don’t disagree with their points. I would love to see them back on the forums as I respect the majority of people in both parties.


13. Is A Baker’s Dozen: Cake or Creme-filled? Jelly or Custard? Fav donut pls.

I hate jelly filled! Cake, creme-filled, and custard filled are fine. My favorite donut is maple frosted. I just love that sweet, maple flavor.

Your All-Time Favorite Movie? What’s so great about it? Best movie quote?

Hmm… I would probably say The Highlander is my all time favorite movie. Not because it is a cinematic masterpiece, but rather because I have great memories of watching that movie in high school with my friends. We watched it so much that we could pick a part and recite the entire movie from beginning to end. Those were good times.

As for best movie quote… “What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach. So you get what we had here last week, which is the way he wants it. Well, he gets it. I don't like it any more than you men.” from Cool Hand Luke, def one of the top 10 movies in my opinion.
