There is an obvious flaw in this game.

The purpose of this article is not to condemn anyone for this flaw, but to correct it. My hope is that eventually this won't be needed anymore, and the game will have its own mechanism to address this flaw. For now, this is the solution. This is a "stop-gap" measure intended to fulfill a specific purpose for now. It will be great when it is no longer needed and the game offers its own solution.

So, what is this flaw?

As if you didn't know, even before you clicked on this article based on its title.

The flaw is the lack of a highly skilled job market.

What do I mean?

The job market today ('Job Market') stops short at 7+ skill. It is a bit ridiculous to think that a 7.0 skill worker helps just as much as a 15.99 skill worker. Yet, they can both apply for the same jobs in the current job market.

The other main flaw with Human Resources/Job Market is having no mechanism to account for wellness at the time of application. This is a different topic for another day, though.

So, what is this wonderful stop-gap measure that is being offered today?

I offer you:
Highly Skilled Job Market listings
&
Highly Skilled Job Market Offers

These are 2 Google Documents that allow workers to list themselves as available for hire, and GMs to list offers for these workers. The 2 documents are not linked in any way. Both the listings and the Offers are being made available though, to achieve as much participation as possible.

You don't want to fill out a form, but you want to see the documents? Fine. Allow me to call you lazy and then proceed to the published Google Documents. The "results" are available to everyone. Making this information available to as many people as easily as possible is the main point, really.

But, wait, if the information is publicly viewable, what do you get out of this, Equality 7-2521? Answer: Absolutely nothing.

I am not trying to profit off of this in any way. I have about 5 more years of working daily until I have enough skill to be on the list. I am merely attempting to bring people together and to bring this to the attention of the site administrators so they can consider updating 'Human Resources' for highly skilled workers.

Contrary to the belief of some, most of what I do in this game is intended to improve gameplay for most users and to benefit my country. On that note, I should mention that I am running for re-election in Connecticut tomorrow. Feel free to fly into our great state and drop down a vote for me.

Final question: Isn't this Google Doc a really easy thing to create and doesn't deserve a lot of credit?

Short answer: Yes.
It is terribly easy to create. I suppose it is easier to create this than it would be to make the update to the game mechanics. I don't really deserve any credit for being "creative" in any way. I just saw something that I didn't think was being adequately addressed by the administrators or the players, and this begins to address it. The only credit I deserve is that I spent the half hour or whatever to create the things, publish them on the web and then create this wall of text article. Credit points deserved? About 0.2/100 would be my guess.

Enjoy!
