High Wellness: Your Top Priority

The following is from the Training Manual for the SFP Bear Cavalry, reprinted by permission of the Bear Cavalry Quartermaster, Osmany Ramon:

It provides good advice for new fighters. All resistance organizations and resistance fighters are encouraged to train new recurits on how to maintain wellness.

Wellness is one of the most important things in Resistance Wars. This is because wellness is a factor in both the amount of damage you can deal in combat and your productivity when working. For this reason, you are going to want to keep your wellness in the 90's. The following is a guide on how to keep your wellness up.

All new players start their life in the New World with 50 wellness. Depending on what quality level job a player works for when s/he first starts out and what quality food s/he eats, by the time a new player has reached Level 5, they are often under the 40 wellness mark.

When you reach level 5 it is important to be over 40 wellness because you are able to fight. But you cannot fight unless your wellness is above 40. If your wellness is below 40 and you are over level 5, please notify your commanding officer. You will need someone to gift you wellness until you are above 40 so that you can fight.

Why is the ability to fight so important for wellness? If you fight a minimum of 1 time in a given day, you are eligible to heal at a hospital. When you heal at a hospital, you will be given an amount of wellness equal to the quality level of the hospital x 10, so a Q1 Hospital will heal you 10 wellness points and a Q5 hospital will heal you 50 wellness points.

There is a catch, however. Each citizen may only use a hospital once in an eRepublik day. So if you fought and healed at 09:00 eRepublik time, you will not be able to use the hospital again if you fight again and you will start the next day at a low wellness. This typically means that you will only be able to fight a maximum of 5 times per eRepublik day.

You are only able to use the hospital that is in your region, so if you are are in a region that has something other than a Q5 hospital, you should move to a region with a Q5 hospital.

The following methods for getting your wellness into the 90's assumes that you live in a Q5 Hospital Region, are over level 5, and that there are active wars in which you may participate.

If your wellness is in the 40's, you will fight 1 time down to the 30's in wellness and then heal back up to the 80's. The next day you will fight 3 times down to the 50's and then heal back up to 100.

To maintain your wellness in the 90's, you will never fight below 40 wellness. Once you have fought down to the 40's, you will heal and get back into the 90's.

Here are 2 things you will not want to do:

Fight more times than your region's hospital can heal you. Each fight costs 10 wellness and each quality level of a hospital will heal you 10 wellness.

Fight, heal and fight in the same eRepublik day. You will not be able to use a hospital a second time in one day, which means you will be down wellness at the beginning of the next day.

***There are times when you may be ordered to "overfight". Only do so when ordered.***

If you can keep your wellness consistently in the 90's, you will be capable of being what we call a "10 Fighter". Since battles span over 24 hours, it is likely that you will be able to fight in the same battle over two eRepublik days. The first day when the battle starts, you would fight 5 times and then heal. Then the next eRepublik day, when the battle is still raging on, you would fight another 5 times and then heal.

As a member of the SFP Bear Cavalry, you should strive to be an effective 10 Fighter.
