Hidak és falak

A magányos katona távolról nézi a csatat… távol a harctól, az izgalomtól, csak tanácsot adva ha kérdik, s véleményt ha nem is; nem mozdulhat, holott a tenyere viszket, fegyver kívánkozik bele, ő is oda akarja tenni tégláit a falba, ebbe a régóta várt visszavágóba, ebbe a csatába, amelyre már mindkét fél gondosan felkészült, nem vesztegették el a lélegzetüket más vitákban, nem lőtték el a fegyvereket hiába a mellékes csatákban és a cselből indított RW-kben sem. A tavasz még üdítően hideg szele a csatazajt hozza hozzá, a fegyverek csörgését, a lezuhanó téglák dobbanását a földön, a tankok földrengető moraját – és a végtelen aranyak gurulását, ahogy elenyésznek a tűzben, mint megannyi haszontalan újságpapír…

Statisztikák születnek percenként, mesélik számaikkal a csata történetét, az epikus csatáét, amely születőben van, a titánok összecsapását, akik végre kiálltak egymás ellen, az egyik oldalon gondos tervezés és igényes szervezés, a másik oldalon mélységes titkolózás én még alaposabb haditervek; a színpompás egyenmadarak rendezett osztagai ellen vadul különböző egyéniségek hada áll ki, mely nem kevésbé kolosszális, de a végtelen változatosság tarka tömeggé teszi; furcsa nevek és idegen zászlók keverednek mindkettőbe, ahogy a szövetségesek jönnek kisegíteni a barátokat. Az evilág stratégái összedugják fejüket, időzónákat és terveket hasonlítgatnak össze, törik a fejüket, vajh miféle utolsóperces elterelő harcot, csatát, cselt tudnának még bevetni, mert mind tudják, mit mi is tudunk; a titánok harcát hajszálak fogják eldönteni, s bármi, bárhol lehet ez a döntő tényező…

És amíg a stratégák terveiket szövik a háttérben szorgos szervezők osztogatnak; pénzt, paripát s fegyvert; parancsokat és térképeket, a parancsnoki vonalak égnek, a beszélgetések fonalai szövődnek, chatek és a kommunikáció összes ablakai nyitva állnak, sokasodnak, míg el lehet tévedni is bennük; és mindenki a főszereplőket várja a színpadra, mikor fognak már végre mind megjelenni, és eldönteni a kelet dominanciáját, ha nem is örökre, de hosszú időre? Mert hát mind harcolunk ha tudunk, a magányos katona tovább szövi gondolatait, mind csodáljuk őket és magunk is olyanok akarunk lenni – mint a tankok, kik kisebb csatákat maguk eldöntenek, de itt majd mindőjüket fogjuk látni felsorakozni, mindőjük seregében szükség lesz rájuk, ritka látvány lesz ez, hogy együtt látjuk világunk legfontosabb hőseit…

De most furcsán féloldalasnak tűnik a játszma, elbillent a mérleg, az egyik oldal mintha nem harcolna még igazán, noha igen, látunk ott is tankokat egyet, egyet, de ez még messze nem az a szívszorító látvány, amire mi is, a világ is vár még; még növelik a várakozásunkat, még a kételyek magvát hintik el a másik oldalban azzal, hogy magabiztossá teszik, hisz teljesen biztos, hogy többre képesek, sokkal, de sokkal többre, megmutatták már egyszer, s mi nem felejtettük el, nem lesz ez másként most sem… a katona érzi a hideg keleti szél csípését, összehúzza a kabátot maga körül, s tovább hallgatja a csata némileg csendesedő zaját… a mi jövőnket is eldöntheti ez, fűzi tovább gondolatait, mit fogunk tenni és mit tehetünk, a tankok között talán kicsik vagyunk, de amit tudunk megtesszük, ahogy mindig is megtettük…

Barátok és ellenségek, most mind ott vannak, mindkét oldalon, mindkét seregben - a magányos katona így gondolkozik már – furcsa lenne tán hogy mindnek sok szerencsét kíván? Nem győzhet mind, tudja jól, kellene választania is tán, s drukkolni annak, hogy nyerjen… de ez egyre nehezebb már, ahogy a barátok gyűlnek mindkét oldalon, s harcolnak egymással tovább…

A magányos katona most a partvonalon áll, s titokban hálát ad a sorsnak, hogy az így alakította sorsát. Talán így a legjobb, még nem tudhatja mit hoz a sors.

Lesznek hidak amelyeken át kell menni és lesznek, amelyeket felégetnek.

Csak az idő ad majd választ mindenre.

Bridges and Walls

The lonely soldier watches the battle from distance... removed from fighting, away from the excitement, giving only advice if asked, or opinion when not; cannot move, although the hands are itching, to put his bricks, his contributions to the long awaited rematch, the battle for which now both sides prepared carefully, not wasting their breaths for other issues and not wasting weapons for sideline-battles and feint-RWs either. The spring’s still cold winds bring the clash and clatter of weapons, the crashes of bricks on the ground, the earth-shaking rumble of the tanks – and the infinite jingle of gold burned away, like it was so much useless newspaper…

Statistics are being born by the second, telling the tale of an epic battle in the makings, the clash of titans, that finally squared off against each other, the infinite planning and organizations versus secrecy and even more order, the brightly coloured, uniform birds against the wildly clashing individuals, who still form an army of colossal proportions, strange names and flags making their visit, as the allies turn up to help out the friends in need. Strategists all over the eWorld put their heads over timetables and maps, what last minute plans, feints or diversions could they still make, for all know that the titans’ battle will be decided by the smallest of margins, and anything, anywhere can be that deciding factor…

And while planners draw possible timelines, organizers, people behind the scenes donate weapons and gold, and timetables for all, lines of command and lines of excited talking burn, chats and all means of communication is put to heavy use, windows open galore, one can get lost amongst them, and everything awaits the protagonists to the stage, when will they finally make their appearance and decide the domination of east if not for good, but at least for a long time? For we all fight, if we can, the lonely soldier thinks, but we all admire and want to be like them – the tanks, who alone can decide a smaller battle, but whom we will mostly see here, as their respective sides will need them all for victory, a rare sight it is, when one can see so may of our world’s heroes…

It does seem one-sided now, strangely tipped over to one side, the other seemingly giving no real fight yet, yes, there are tanks too, but not the display that we had all hoped for, it is still have us waiting for them, raising our expectations, sowing doubt in the other side, making it nervous, by making it confident, surely they are capable of much-much more, they showed it many times, and it won’t be an exception here and now… the soldier feels the cold of the strong, eastern wind, pulls the coat more around him, as listens to the battle’s somewhat abated noises… our future will be changed by it, he knows, what we can and should do, we might be small to have a say in amongst the tanks, but we will do what we can, as we have always done…

Friends and enemies they are all there, all on both sides and not evenly divided, he thinks, and strange is it to wish them all luck? For they cannot all win, so the soldier should pick a side, and root them to be victorious, but it is harder and harder all the time, as friends accumulate and with each other they fight…

The soldier stands aside now and secretly bows to fate to make it so. Maybe it is for the best, he still cannot know.

There will be bridges to cross or bridges to burn.

Time will tell.
