CP candidature and Stuff about stuff.

So a lot of you must be seeing Rylde's opposition and probably wondering if there is a notable candidate with a plan to challenge him. Well there is, me. In a backwards turn of events after a somewhat sarcastic comment that I'd rather run than support Rylde led to some support in my party and chose me over Rylde (although not enormous support I'll build on it) and I waited until I gained support of the party before releasing an article about my CP intentions to avoid an awkward moment should I not get anyone's support. But I got the support anyway I now need to build on it and convince the rest of you. So Rylde if you’re expecting a walk in the park on the 5th, then you'd be F*&%ing wrong, because I will go fight to be the last one standing.
Obviously the biggest challenge for the CP is to convince congress on our alliance stance. Certainly our citizens are divided on this issue and there is no pleasing everyone. But in our current situation we're probably best described as neutral/Pro-EDEN. This is rather decent, sticking out for only our friends and we're the ones who decide to fight for, not some head of alliance that focuses on fighting in a war of no interest towards us. So a lot of you are wondering where I stand on the fence regarding this issue. While I see it to be useless to see my preferred alliance since if the citizens and congress vote and agree on an alliance that is a sensible option then why should I let a personal preference in the way of that? (If you wondering I have been thinking of seeing Canada in TWO, but I know the hate is there so I've given up on the dream and I'm focusing on more "realistic" choice). So I've reviewed the alliances countless times and looked at the pros and cons of each and decided where in my opinion the cons outweigh the pros and vice versa.
So I looked at potential allies for us in regards of population-wise, while this is a good indication of how strong a country is it does not show hard a country can punch.
Click here for the article about how strong other countries are populations are
So where do I stand?
EDEN
They're dying the only thing keeping it together is that large MPP stack and the fact that it's survived so many threats that it isn't going down without a fight. But with all that inner turmoil it won't take a fight to defeat it, probably it will just fall on its own once more countries leave. A good list of friends are in there like Portugal, and a lot of allies we're used to fighting for and quite a significant amount of our population wants to continue fighting for our friends which I think is noble and shows that we're not some backstabbing nation (unlike some other nations *cough😉
CoT
An interesting option. I'm not entirely against it, but I rather dislike the fact that a lot of "traditional enemies" are in here. Despite the punch it packs how much are we willing to sacrifice and what will we gain from joining CoT. Looking at regional-wise the interesting fact is how much the Balkans are involved in the alliance. Previous alliances have had troubles with the wars of the Balkans with an eight-way war between Serbia, Croatia, Hungary, Romania, FYROM, Greece, Bulgaria, Montenegro and Albania. A lot of influence to be put in for what gains? Some more ground, perhaps another region, but is it worth all that influence that may be used elsewhere? This alliance includes FYROM and Bulgaria, but what I find interesting is the number of countries they have in Southern America and the Pacific surely means that the damage would be distributed more evenly than in other alliances. But would Canada fit in this alliance of "enemies"? Of course one thing is consider the amounts of Canadians that would refuse to fight for CoT, could result in another exodus. Is this alliance worth it? If congress would decide to support it I would not stand in the way, but I would advise that cautious steps be taken.
Asgard
At first I thought it was a joke. Then since its actually being discussed I'll throw my opinion into the fray. Although it would be nice to finally get an alliance where we actually get priority a good amount of times. We're adding two countries who are in the middle inbetween Russia, Estonia, Germark and Lithuania would they actually have a lot to give us? There has been talks to include other countries, I've heard the names Russia and Ireland being talked about to make a Nordic alliance. With all this discussion I believe we can still join Asgard and still keep our neutral/Pro-EDEN stance, but we increase our MPP stack thus pros and cons come of this since we have more allies at the cost of it being more expensive to sign MPPs.
TWO
No, I think that's enough isn't it...
So some final thoughts.
I've weighed the pros and cons and made a stance for myself.
Remain neutral.
While it may come as a shock I find it a nice way to have friends yet not be committed. It allows us time for the alliances to develop and see how things will unveil and time to think for a new alliance. Some of you don't like this stance, but I have my reasons for remaining this way since we're not obliged to an alliance, we can still be Pro-EDEN/CoT/TwO/Asgrad/whatever. I've thought about entering a one month trial period with Asgard to see if the alliance is what we're looking for and to make some friends. I've decided to simply improve relations with members and increase communication between countries that we should value as allies. Countries that will have our back and we'll have theirs. Like Rylde I respect the countries like Portugal, France, Germark, Sweden and would like to increase our friendship with them and perhaps persuade them towards an alliance (maybe Asgard, hint, hint). While we have no real option of war at the moment since UK and Ireland are in a Training war (with some problems I hear) we might intervene (Oh gawd again, *groans* : P ) but I've looked towards increasing relations with USA and perhaps opening a training war if they are interested.
Although nothing is set in stone, just laying out some plans I have should you decide to elect me, so yeah consider it I promise not to disappoint, working/building a cabinet at the moment so that'll be out tomorrow, and yeah sorry to all those parties out there who perhaps would have supported me but I let my candidature run out late. But what's done is done. Make your choice wisely.
Ask me anything you want : )
And for all those horny B@stards out there here have some fun.

Rolo is alive
Muahahhahahaha
im not sure if this is real
if it is
Take a stand
Alot of people were gunho about CoT but dont have the nads to campaign on it, instead they will take a back seat and probably say "told ya so" if things dont work out with asguard or our current state
^so i think what your saying is you support CoT? well good on ya but i can't say i agree with you on that one
You like TWO but you don't like CoT because we have many traditional enemies in CoT?
...
FYI you should check that alliance pro con.
I think we also have a lot of traditional allies in CoT.
I'd take reliable allies over traditional ones. This game has become very unstable lately so don't expect allies to be there just because they were in the past.
Just take a look at what happened to eIndia yesterday:

Checking the CoT and I see Bulgaria, Switzerland which are the two I'm sure we were allies with before. Japan and South Korea I'm not sure about. But a lot of countries I thought of former enemies or neutrals filled that list.
Two I respect somewhat as enemies, but somewhat of a crazy idea for us to join them (obviously I gave that up as it's unrealistic). I don't support CoT much I'd support almost anything congress or eCanada majority agrees on as long as they have reasonable good arguments for their support for that alliance.
Back at Plugson, who says reliable allies aren't the ones who have been there for you for a long time so that they have become "traditional allies"? I'm still not completely convinced about Cot being reliable allies.
Yeah, good point. Traditional allies are usually reliable. However, as we saw with the CanAm War this summer and recent events in eIndia, you have to admit that allegiances can shift unexpectedly in this game.
Too bad there wasn't a way to determine the benefits of an ally that could be broken down into a few clear points for evaluation. For me, this would be:
a) share the same enemies as you, are not friends with those you perceive as enemies (like duh)
b) willing to lend their damage on the rare occasion you request it
c) active MPP to provide fights for our DOs and strategic fun
d) able to swap a region for a bonus
e) have been allies with you a long time AND will likely be there in the near future at least (I put this one at the bottom, but 'being there in the near future' is pretty important)
also, that article link is now fixed
Bad time to Run I'd say, good luck Chewy, but Rylde4CP
@ragalanow
im not for CoT
