Here We Go

Day 1,585, 17:12 Published in Canada China by Northraider

Welcome and thank you for attending for the maiden voyage and debut edition of Six Time Zones. Although it may be easy to suggest a theme, and promote a style, the reality is that this publication will in all likelihood take on a life of it's own. The comments received; the critique and reviews; and the reactions that result, will all and each merit consideration.

I also at this time wish to announce my decision to contest a seat for Congress representing the people and region of Yorkshire & Humberside on behalf of the Military Dictatorship Party. The MDP has an exceptional slate of candidates and I am proud to be part of the team that will raise Canada from the grip of too many months of bickering and ineffectiveness. Canada needs a true vision that is not anchored by it's past. It needs a future that reaches beyond it's horizons. It needs a purpose that unites it's citizens. The MDP presents a platform and agenda that will effect these goals, and the personnel to work for your interests in promoting a safe, strong, and prosperous Nation.

As Einstein sai😛
"We can not solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them."

I. The State of our Country

Our Nation has recently been the target of attack from many who were once valued and respected. Persons of standing and position. Past leaders and representatives. Within our borders their discontent rose and their frustrations came to boil. Rather than accept the will of the people, they rejected the process of democracy and set about distancing themselves from those who would seek to look ahead. Some left in silent protest. Others left without the silence. Still others embraced and encourage violence against the Nation that nurtured and once embraced and encouraged them. The effect has been polarizing but in a large part represents a problem that had been allowed to take root for too long: Those persons refused to set aside differences and turn towards addressing the needs of our country. Our response has been unifying.

Disagreement and opposition is both welcome and necessary within any system that aspires to bring together persons with differences. Regardless of our disagreements we can not, however, tolerate or accept dissent that would tear at our fabric. Persons can not be vocal and disruptive to the peace we have so long sought to build and maintain, by resorting to threats, intimidation, and violence. The disagreement and opposition that has befallen us was not with intent to bring persons together. The dissatisfied dissenters became a brash collection of disruptors who attacked us purposefully, while encouraging others to join in.

We have suffered acts of treason on the part of some of these persons, which escalated soon thereafter to the call for war against our Nation. Their associates post in our forums and within our feeds to denounce our Government and those that stood together to resist and confront these terrorist and those factions that think to call themselves exiled. We bore a tremendous cost, as did our allies. Resources have not been spared because the cost of our independence was never negotiable.

II. The Response Today and For our Future

A. Our Security

I will continue to oppose the actions and demands of these rebels and will stand up to the terrorists. Negotiating with terrorists is never an option. And I will not promote or contemplate their return to Canada or again provide them with the privilege of holding a Canadian Passport and it's Citizenship, at the risk that they would again harbour their vengeance and malice toward us. I would not provide them security to wait for the first opportunity to abuse the freedoms we have carved and nurtured and fought to maintain for our citizens. I will not welcome or endorse their agenda or that of their supporters for such an agenda would revisit old feuds and rekindle old grievances.

B. Our Prosperity

Instead I would turn my focus towards strengthening our alliances and our place amidst our peers. I will promote obtaining regions that will enhance our economic base, and that allow our businesses to profit and advance here at home instead of seeing so many jobs and businessmen have to relocate or move elsewhere. I will seek to protect our markets and place safeguards that stop other nations from flooding us with their goods except when there is a tax at a rate sufficient to generate income for our treasury while providing a competitive balance for our own manufacturers.

C. The Canada that Matters

Lastly I will promote our community and seek to safeguard our environment. I am not talking about the weather. I am talking about raising the level of respect we have and hold towards one another in this game. Respect amongst the Canadians who remained and sacrificed as one these last few weeks. The ones who maintained faith in our union rather than leaving us behind then mocking and belittling us from their new lands and the countries they scurried to.

To this end I would first ask for masking on our forums and strict monitoring of any presence that was not Canadian. I would ask for new guidelines on who may be a participant and what level of access they might have, with a moderator to have swift and effective authority to denounce disruptive commentary from non-Canadians. We neither need or welcome the citizens of other nations, those who choose to depart, and the terrorists who have sought to disrupt our peace and prosperity, to condemn our agenda or provoke unrest.

Additionally I would seek a full understanding of the game mechanics that are available to admonish and denounce inappropriate or hostile activity amongst our Canadian community. We need effective deterrence that can progressively discipline those who would continue to disrupt or diminish the game play of others while knowing what extreme we may go to to fully limit as best as possible such behaviour that is repetitive or beyond acceptance. Our roleplay is a substantial part and aspect of this game, yet we can not be tied and bound, by or to, unenforceable decisions that are restricted by the reality of our environment. Finding a balance for roleplay and enforceability is necessary so that mutual respect and adherence to basic standards of conduct can be expected and insisted upon.

III. Your Task

I ask for your vote on March 25 for myself and the other members of the MDP. Believe in our future and walk together to meet it.
