Here We Go Again: Alberta Congress; Auk Rest

Day 915, 09:33 Published in Canada Canada by Auk Rest

First of all, who actually likes to read articles about congress candidacies? Who actually likes to write articles about this? The whole point of articles like this is really just to tell everyone that you are running for congress. So that is exactly what I will do, plus a little extra I suppose.

My name is Auk Rest and I'm running for the Canadian Progressive Front in Alberta. Last month I was elected in Manitoba, but I am now running by Alberta.

And now some more information.

In most debates of congress on the forums, I mostly just read what everyone has to say and made my own decisions. I have proposed the idea of embargoing hostile countries (you may remember this was also in Tyler F. Durden's CP platform).

Due to the war in Europe, we are at war with every PHOENIX country, and wars mean automatic embargo. Should we make peace with these countries, we need to make sure they can't profit of Canada (or at least make it harder). And as we wait even longer for V2 I'm obliged to say I won't sell out a titanium region to another country unless the offer was OVERWHELMINGLY good.

I voted for the following:

- I voted NO to a defense system in Quebec. Why? We should be closing the war with France not preparing to be taken out. In the long run this defense system will probably be more useful than not, but I'm not going to lie on what I did.

-I voted YES to VAT tax increases from 1% to 10%. These cost common Canadians 10 cents and give the government extra revenue. With average wages in the $30.00s, 10 cents means nothing.

-Voted NO to import tax increases. Increasing the import taxes aren't necessary with a war going on and weapons in high demand.

-In debate I am in favor of placing new hospital(s)/ defense systems ONLY if the war with France is closed.

-I did NOT approve PHOENIX citizens looking for Canadian citizenships.

-Did NOT propose worthless tax changes or other pointless things that first-time congressmen sometimes do.

There's nothing you can "promise" to voters that will be for sure, but I will always put the mind of an average eCanadian first when I will vote on issues and try to look to the future. Vote smart and vote Auk Rest in Alberta or your local Canadian Progressive Front candidate.

If anyone has personal questions about my term in congress (or indepth of my hopeful next one), feel free to private message me your questions.
