I agree with this article and I wish the best to the RL people of Iran. We need to leave RL at the door and realize games like this bring people together over common interests. The Iranian people fought well and though we are the victors, we should be gracious enough to limit our comments to the game.

Well, to be fair, the US is not really bringing RL into this war with Iran. We are just fighting Phoenix, of which Iran is a member 😛

I do salute you, our enemy on the field. However, when you win do we not have to hear your gloating? Before we attack, do we not hear your insults? I think give us our day to do what you have done for months 😃 In all, it is just a game and fun is what is being had.

Thank you for your respectful answer. Not all Americans have the illusion of freedom and democracy that foreigners are led to believe. I am sure that eIran has helped many other countries win their independence and defend them against invaders.

I wish your country and people a brighter future that they deserve. For the struggles that you face with such restrictions and language, you do an amazing feat.

Just remember that: just because Americans may receive a lot of hate and insults every day from around the world, it's not the case that we don't care about it. We feel insulted as human beings and citizens of the world like anyone else, whatever our government, politicians and businesspeople do. It really is saddening to some of us when people around the world express such hatred and jealousy for us, and most importantly, don't really know us.

I am sure the reverse is also true - Americans don't really know Iranians.

First off, you guys put up a great fight for a country your size (not intended to be rude) and also given the gold-purchasing restriction you guys have to face.

Although we remain enemies on the battlefield, there is no reason for us not to be gracious to one another. I'd like to believe that in RL the problems between our countries are only between our respective governments; I myself harbor no ill will toward the Iranian people. It would be great if we could set aside these problems and have a spirited yet friendly rivalry in-game.

Well said. If we all took a little more time to understand each other instead of hating just for the sake of hate. The world would be a remarkable place. I studied Iran and it's people in college and they truly are a proud and dignified nation. I wish all of you the best of luck on both sides. Keep your pride in who you are because you all deserve it.

I respect the article...but the "damning by faint praise thing"...not so sure. eIranian players have been known to gloat more than a little bit after a big win. Internet access in Iran is a challenge. This is an internet based game...and think how long it would take to fight if it were done by Postal Service 🙂. Our fellow eCitizens here from Iran are great, thank you for making the game so challenging! We hope we do the same for you. Best to leave RL where it belongs...and where most of both our RL country's leaders are a couple fries short of a Happy Meal, if you know what I mean.

I don't have a problem with Iranian people in RL, though it is a game so its fair to expect a lot of trash talking from both sides. 😉
