Having Trouble Keeping It Up?

Day 821, 23:01 Published in Australia Australia by Melchizedek Smith

Now that I have your attention...

As many people would be aware over the past year I have dedicated alot of time to messaging new citizens, welcoming them to eAustralia and offering advice and assistance where needed.

Over time I have found that the questions I am most commonly asked seem to repeat themselves all to frequently, thus I thought it prudent to put together a series of articles responding to the frequesntly asked questions of todays youth.

So let's begin with question 1.

"Hi Mel, I think I am getting the hang of things generally, but for some reason my wellness seems to be dropping quickly and I have no idea how people manage to have wellness at 90-100. How do I get my little blue man tanked up like everyone else?

Please help,
eAus Bub"

Losing Wellness

Every time you work you will lose an amount of wellness equal to the Q (quality level) of the company. So if as in your instance your company is a Q1 food company (notice the stars on the company page) then you will lose 1 point of wellness when you work. You also lose 1 point of wellness each time you train, which at present means that you will be losing 2 points of wellness per day. This is actually the best you can hope for in terms of wellness lost.

If however you find yourself in the situation that Unlucky Dude though, that is working in a Q5 weapons company and training each day, then you will be losing 6 points of wellness each day. My advice to Unlucky Dude would be to resign from his job as soon as possible and find a new job in a low Q company. What about the pay cut? Well in fact you'll find that the pay cut actually means you can save more as you will no longer need to buy high Q food as you will see in a moment.

Maintaining Wellness

To maintain or increase wellness there are a number of options.

The first and most obvious is to buy food. Your wellness will increase each day by an amount determined by the Q of the food you purchase as the chart below clearly outlines.

So essentially when starting out you would need to buy Q2 food in order to keep your wellness at the same level. For now however I'd stick to Q1 food as it is the cheapest and the 1 point of wellness loss won't really hurt you as I will explain in a moment.

Secondly it is also possible to be gifted wellness. To do this you or someone else must purchase gifts and then gift you and your wellness will increase by an amount equal to the Q of the qift. Note you cannot gift yourself, therefore if you buy the gift you will need to first donate it to a friend or an organisation before it can be gifted to you.

Thirdly you can buy a house which will give you a wellness boost each day (probably not an option though until you have saved a fair bit of money). The wellness boost you receive is calculated in the same manner as for food (see above chart).

Finally the most effective way to improve your wellness is to use the hospital. Here's the catch though. In order to use a hospital you must first have fought at least once in that day. In order to fight you must be above level 5 and have more than 40 wellness. You also need to be in a region with a hospital in order to use it. So, when you reach level 5 (which doesn't take too long if you stick at it) what you will have to do is this:

1. After training for the day buy 1 Q1 weapon (if you can afford to do so), then click on battles you can fight in.
2. Go to a battlefield and fight once only (you will lose 10 wellness each time you click fight).
3. After fighting click on 'return to battlefield'.
4. Click 'Hospital'.
5. Click 'Heal'.
6. Your wellness will have now healed by an amount 10x the Q level of the hospital (In your instance NSW has a Q5 hospital so you will get 50 wellness).
7. You are then finished for the day (you can only heal once each day so there is no point in fighting again).
8. Next day fight until your wellness is around 40-50 then follow steps 3-5 and you will be done for the day.

(This is the basic outline. I'll think about putting this one in more detail as a separate question. For now feel free to check out Eleriel's brilliant tutorial on how to fight here.)

By doing this you will be able to easily get your wellness up in the 90s if not 100, and then you simply go through this process each day to keep gaining experience whilst maintaining a high wellness. This is why I say that you are best to stick with cheap food for now as it won't be long before you get a big wellness boost 😃
