Hassan - Domestic Manifesto

Domestic Policy

This side of my policy directly links into "Overcomplication", which was found in my article "It's Bigger Than Your Life". The eUK has a LOT of unnecessary legislation, and in this article I'm going to start with a few examples of legislation that fits that criteria, so that the eUK can become a more direct and simple to understand Country.

Government Policy

Firstly, if we look at the eUK's Government Policy Forum (http://forums.erepublik.co.uk/viewforum.php?f=41), we can see it isn't exactly the most welcoming place. It can be tiresome and confusing to try and find the legislation that you're looking for. As such, I would propose that this forum contain sub-sections of "Abolished Policy" and "Pacts and Alliances". This should allow ease of use for all citizens.

In accordance with this streamlining, these are those examples I was talking about earlier,

Finance Act

This can be formed by combining the following bills

- Treasury and Bank of England (http://forums.erepublik.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=971)
- Minister of Finance Bill (http://forums.erepublik.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=4980)

Congressional Voting Act

The Political Transparency Act can be created by combining the following bills, which are all under the same purpose of transparency

- Voting Procedure (http://forums.erepublik.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=11521)
- Voting Clarity (http://forums.erepublik.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=11114)
- Freedom of Information (http://forums.erepublik.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=2942)
- Transparent Government (http://forums.erepublik.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=733)
- Ministry Reports Bill (http://forums.erepublik.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=6394)

Young Company Apprentices

This bill (http://forums.erepublik.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=3869) has never really been used, and as such should be repealed.

Belgian Independence Agreement

The Belgian Independence Agreement suffers from two flaws. Firstly, all the terms of the contract have been completed and secondly, Belgium no longer exists. Abolish!

All of this legislation amendments or repealments will be put up by myself immediately after the elections, regardless of whether I win or not

Ministries

I've always held the policy that Ministers should be trusted to do their jobs, and if I were to outline details of what they should be doing, it would inevitably be thrown out the window come next month, as Ministers will always have to adapt to different situations and are hardly ever able to just get on with the routine work.

Saying that, these routine jobs can be done rather easily by simply hiring more people and assigning them these rather more tedious tasks. Therefore, I would like to introduce the policy of accepting all apprentice applications for Ministries, where possible. Firstly, this will get more people directly involved in the government, so they can have a better understanding of how the eUK works, as well as creating talent for the future so we do not have the same people rotating positions every month. More people need to be given the oppurtunity to work within the Ministry of their choice.

Regarding the top Minister positions themselves, I would like to keep as much continuity from last month as possible - it simply doesn't help to keep having a new person every month. Obviously this will not be entirely possible, as some people will be stepping down, such as our esteemed Minister of Defence HexXA. Also, if someone highly qualified presents him/herself for a position (such as Dish), they will almost certainly be accepted, as they already have the know-how and how the Ministry runs. Ministers will also be REQUIRED to be active on IRC, as it has been invaluable to the current government and allowed us to discuss decisions in-depth and quickly.

While IRC is important, all Ministries should keep in tocuh with the public, and the easiest way to do that is simply by releasing articles. If the public are aware at what you're doing, they are less likely to get frustrated and can really see what the Government are DOING. This can't only be the responsibility of the President, it is the responsibility of the Government as a whole. However, I will of course plan to release regular articles on what the Government has been getting up to. Also, the MoHa release articles offering information for new players, (to help increase activity) and with links to other ministries most recent articles, in order to increase circulation.

The umbrella ministry positions, which were introduced last month by Kumnaa, including Minister of Defence and Foreign Affairs, Minister of Economics and Minister of Domestic Affairs, will be kept in place. They have helped the Ministers do their job, while dealing with some of the organisational tasks.

Government Companies

As mentioned in the Economic Policy, the government will be setting up a number of new companies to assure the status of cheap food on the market to encourage new citizens and old alike. This will be carried out by the Department for Work, and the ONLY cost involved will be that of paying for the companies themselves - a part from that, the companies will be completely self-sufficient as they will be carrying out the wage system outlined by the Socialist Challenge (http://docs.google.com/View?id=dhcsgw5d_24fbf86sfh). This way, even if these Companies do harm the private sector in any way (although this is highly unlikely), the Government will only lose a tiny amount of Gold.

Military Companies will be continued to run by the Ministry of Defence, although the Royal Ordnance will simply stockpile Q1s for use by the Navy and Royal Guard. Currently, the Paratropers have 2 Iron Companies and one Q3 Weapon Company, and 1 Q1 Weapon Company. These will both be restarted by the new MoD and will be used regularly by the Paratroopers. When the Paratroopers are not fighting, they will be stockpiled. The Navy also has an Iron and Q1 Weapon Company, which is being used efficiently by the new Navy Commanding Officer, Rodney McKay.

Representation

Finally, and potentially most importantly, the Government is here to represent YOU; the people of the eUK, nobody else. As such, I will be there to listen and take into account ALL options which citizens of the eUK present, whether they be Cabinet members or people who have just joined.

Vote Hassan on July 5th for a eUK Government which Represents YOU
