Guide for new players

Please provide input on what to add to this. I will forget things, but I am trying to keep this as non tl;dr as possible.

A common question I get from new players is: "Is that all?" They've worked, trained, fought and don't know what else to do. Here's a guide on how to maximize your eRepublik experience.

REMEMBER, THIS IS A SOCIAL STRATEGY GAME

There really aren't that many things to do in the actual game other than work, train, and fight. What keeps the long-time players coming back is the social aspect of the game.

1) Subscribe and read newspapers that are informative and/or entertaining.
2) Join the eUS forums. This is where USA citizens and other players from around the world talk about the game, offer help and socialize as well.
3) Chat on IRC. Use rizon.net, mibbit.com/chat (Rizon server), ChatZilla or mIRC to talk to fellow eRep people. Popular rooms include #eus, #eus-congress and #usa-chat. Also, every party and branch of the military has its own room. For more info on parties, read this independent party guide.
4) Send a friend request to prominent players. Not only will they often help you, you will be able to see their shouts and stay in the loop about what's going on.
5) If you're a new citizen or need help, fill out this form, and you will be helped.

You'll notice #2 and #3 involve going off-site. There's a reason for that: The more you play this game you'll realize it's full of bugs and inconsistencies. Because of this, the people who play this game have developed their own resources to communicate.

HOW TO FIGHT AND USE THE HOSPITAL

1) Make sure you live in Karnataka, California or Florida. If not, ask the USA Welcoming Committee for a free moving ticket. Wait until after moving to fight. Our preference is for you to move to Karnataka (to strengthen our high-iron region), but any of those three states will do.
2) Go to the Department of Citizen Orders newspaper to find the correct battle to fight in.
3) If you have extra money, buy weapons at the Marketplace (under the Market tab on top). If not, you can fight without a weapon. It's more efficient to buy multiple Q1 (one-star) weapons than weapons of a higher quality.
4) The number of times you can fight per day:
Wellness between 80-100: 5 times
Wellness between 70-79: 4 times
Wellness between 60-69: 3 times
Wellness between 50-59: 2 times
Wellness between 40-49: 1 time
This is why it's important to keep your wellness as high as possible. If you need help keeping your wellness up, ask the USA Welcoming Committee.
5) The most important step: Use the hospital after you fight.

On these pages, click "Heal" next to Hospital and your wellness will be boosted.
If you live in Karnataka, go here.
If you live in California, go here.
If you live in Florida, go here.

You can only use the hospital once per day. Do not fight after using the hospital.

JOIN THE MILITARY

This is one of the most fun parts of the game. Not only to you get to fight in big battles, but the military will often supply you with free weapons and/or moving tickets. Each branch also has a lot of cool people.

Here's the application forms, sorted by strength requirement:

Training Corps: Application
National Guar😛 Application
Mobile Infantry: Application
Army: Application
Airborne: Application
Marines: Application

If you're new, you'll most likely be joining the Training Corps first. The Training Corps is run by a great group of people and the other branches usually look for Training Corps members when adding to their numbers.

In addition to the military, there are several private militias. Here are some of the most notable:

Seal Team 6: Article
Seal Team 7: Article
APF Militia: Article
EZ Company: Application
