120 days is a long time.

I had mastered the routine of being a VMI cadet. You do. The people who recommend you, they know you can do it. You know you can do it. Still, each day requires some focus, some time, some commitment.

I had gotten some recruitment PMs too. I wasn’t going anywhere. I was going to stay in the eUS Army. I didn’t care about the offer from Pizza for the AED, but the offers from eShades for the USAF and from my friend XxBusinessMogulexX for ST6 made me feel like I had done good as a cadet; that I had earned my cattle ranches and saltpeter mines.

My graduation/congratulations/you are discharged PM from the Commandant, the alerts informing me I had been fired from VMI Food 3 and the Corps of Cadets MU all appeared within a half hour of each other.

I was ready for this and I was communally employed and in the Army MU with a few clicks. I had already been supplied for today as a cadet and I wondered if I should try for more supplies from the Army and figured I would.

No fireworks, no ceremony, a little relief at being out from under and that was it.

I overlaid the tiny red, white and yellow ribbon onto my avatar.

It was worth 120 days.
