I find it unbelievable how much hatred this community has towards one another. They complain about there being a negative atmosphere yet refuse to look in the mirror.
When I started this campaign, I did so by being respectful of my opponent. I have done nothing to trash talk my opponent or the GPN. Yet they have felt it nessecarry to be negative and flame at every instance where possible.
van Spijk publically uses government newspapers to say I am the main reason the NL is in its problems.
van Spijck posts in Belgian newspapers that I am going to attack eBE.
I have been told by GPN members that i am unpatriotic because I am still a part of a american MU, where I have been active and have friends with over many years.
The worst of it is this:
I have recieved various PMs from people from the GPN, that I should leave the NL and that I am toxic for the eNL. I will not name names, but these people know who they are.
I say GPN in general yes, but its not everyone from the GPN. However when a party does nothing to reign in its own party members to stop a hate campaign, I am afraid that I must generalize. I appologize to all the GPN members who do act civilized.
The point of an election should be based on the issues and not personal vendettas. Politics need to remain politics and not become personal.
We in the eNL should be so lucky to have two players, who are willing to dedicate themselves towards bettering our nation. I think that Thanatos has personally held a positive campaign, as I myself have done and wish him the best of luck tommorrow.
After all its a game,
We are all patriots.
Leave the negativity at home.

And you say that without mentioning why you think that is the truth? You are only reinforcing the statement made by Auggustus in this article.
Respect is definitely hard to find atm, in the comments and on the forum also. No matter if you have a different opinion, always remember the person behind it and the fact that this still is a game!

I think it has more to do with who is supporting you and why, then you as a candidate. Although, some people do have serious issues with your past. I tend to withhold judgements until I actually see what the person has done and says.
I think personally that few supporters of Auggy have stirred things up here much more than GPN has! I take responsibility of EACH comment I make against or for ANY player. I think Konrad & Pariah and Marnix should look in the mirror and think (if able to do so) about their actions as well. NOw I am "accused" to be disrespectful against HC citizens because I have opinions against them? Wow just wow...

Actually, I'm not the supporter of Auggustus you think I am. I voted for him because I agree with his stance on negotiating with the Pink. Other than that, I don't care who wins. I think Thanatos will do just fine, except I would prefer negotiation over the warfare stance he has adopted.
My article was nonsensical, as much as the arguments it held. The sad thing is that my article was obviously satirical, while many of the opinions posted around here are not, yet hold no more validity than what I have said.
Can you prove any of this allegations? Or is this just your usual slander? I don't believe any member of GPN would write you a pm.
Let's assume they didn't. If you look around at all the accusations being thrown around, they are vastly against Auggustus and by GPN members. I don't like how GPN handled Kamp, and right now I think GPN might be too big to control its members properly. The least thing that could have been done is a distantiation by its prominent members on the claims being made recently.

In all honostly; I still find it very strange that when the state lost 2.5 million nlg by the hands of this Auggustus caracter, that same caracter made millions on that same monetary market for himself and his friends. You call that slander, I call that fishy!

I never made millions off the money market during that time. I think you need to learn your NL history from other sources than van Spijk. Back in the day when erep still had an economy and an independent MM I did good buisness. You can ask people like epix, luuklag, hiekenu, niekhzm, joep. During that period we traded curency on the MM and ran a company. When V2 came along the admins destroyed the economy wiping out alot of our gold with no notice. ever since then it was impossible to make money,, the only way to go was finding ways to preserve it. When i exchanged the NLG for gold, I did the same with my own nlg currency. So when the state lost money so did I!
Reinier, is that the only damn thing you can say? I actually responded to you in detail on another article you posted this nonsense, yet you failed to respond. I know why, and so do you. You have no arguments what so ever to back this up, and you know full well that what you're saying makes no sense.
Not sure about what period you are talking, but I was "working" for Auggy by the Pecunium bank on the MM , and I can assure you he lost a lot of gold when everything collapsed. He also paid all ppl who had gold parked in his bank. Auggy can act aggressive or personal sometimes just like some other dutch citizens, but he is honest and no thief.
Auggustus this all begun when you're character was questioned and issues from the past was brought to light for the new players. I cant my self go into this gold business since I haven´t been present when all this happened so have no comments on that.
It is kinda interesting that you are a part of a US military unit while running for NL presidency. This in my mind makes a perfect questioning about your motives to suddenly appear back into the game after that MoF article mess.
Yuore smart enough to have noticed that youre so called supporters have done a massive damage to your campaign but I dont see you criticizing any of them ; ) . I dispise your viceCP ElGorros continuesly way of using double standards and un able to handle criticism.
As some one stated youre way coming back into the game and becoming a candidate in presidential elections was kinda suspicious and could have been better to do a come back wait over the elections and then run (personal opinion).

I think its to be expected that campaigns can become very toxic sometimes and mudslinging happens but lets try to not let this get personal!

Agreed, I think we will always see mud slinging, you can never take it out completely but we don't have to make things personal. That's when we see the fun of the game leave and people with it.
True Auggy, it's only a small part of GPN who act badly. Hope they will adapt the respect others do have.
Hope such an article will bring some peace back. And some civilized behaviour.

And I find it unbelievable that you blame GPN members only for the current ugly political climate and you totally ignore the part your friends played in creating this situation. As long as you won't admit that they (too) have made some very vicious and libellous attacks, I really can not take your complaints seriously and I have to consider your complaints as just more finger pointing and of denying your own responsibility in this.
