Government Update: Chimor and South Africa

Day 1,623, 07:14 Published in Australia China by deadaccount

We are still trying to get the Brazilian CP to agree to a release of Chimor, and have proposed an alternative of having a New Zealand territory released as well. Both scenarios are acceptable as they present Australia with both a resource bonus and a region in which to do battle.

We are yet to get a hold of the Brazilian CP but have enjoyed using this as an opportunity to build relationships with members of the Brazilian cabinet as well as Brazilian citizens to assist us in our efforts. The responses we received from our bros in Brazil have been nothing short of amazing, and we are sure that one of our new friends will be able to corner the Brazilian CP soon.

In the meantime, while we wait for a region to be released, South Africa's president has approached us about starting a training war in their region KwaZulu Natal (KZN). We have forwarded this proposal on to our Senate for approval and we are currently negotiating the details of this war both with the Senate and with the South African president.

South Africa currently has a land rental deal with Brazil, and as such South Africa is discouraged from fighting in resistance wars for SA territories that are held by Brazil. A training war between both nations would allow both sides to achieve their True Patriot medals.

You may have noticed that South Africa has 5 MPPs, which are all in common with Australia's. South Africa will be proposing the NE law and making the first attack, losing their MPPs in the process. Australia will be paying South Africa compensation of 10,000AUD per MPP lost to ensure that these MPPs can be re-signed by South Africa at the conclusion of the war. I am sure you can agree that 50,000AUD is a miniscule price to pay for a training war when you consider that each True Patriot achievement earned by a player is worth over 10,000AUD.

I must stress that this deal is currently in a negotiation phase, and details are likely to change. Once a deal has been reached between the government and congress of both parties, I will ensure the Australian public is advised in a timely manner.

The government has set the lofty goal of holding two non-home regions (KZN and Chimor or a NZ region) and winning resistance wars consistently in both regions for as long as possible. We believe that Australia is capable of doing it, and even if we fall short in one fight we will still have another in which to push for achievements and glory.

On a personal note, I would like to express my appreciation for those of you who have expressed your approval of our decision to provide up-to-date information about this situation. I have been tasked by Arfman to provide news of the workings of the government to the public, which means communicating our failures honestly as well as celebrating our successes. I do not intend to pretend the hiccup regarding Brazil's release of Chimor didn't happen - I intend to show you that occasionally the government makes mistakes but what is important is finding a solution and learning from them. Every government makes mistakes - we are, after all, only human - but we have decided to be honest with the public instead of pretending that nothing has happened.

As always, I will provide more information as it comes to hand.
