Goodbye from the Maltese Mission [eMALTA]

Day 1,279, 13:01 Published in Russia United Kingdom by Maltese Mission

The Maltese Mission was set up in late 2008 for a variety of functions

1) To provide Maltese eRepublik citizens with a portal through which to contact others.

2) To campaign for the introduction of eMalta in eRepublik.

3) To collect funds and support for a possible eMaltese state to ensure success in its early days.

Over the past 2 and a half years this organisation has worked towards these goals. We have produced many top intentional articles related to our cause, and have received support from all over the eWorld for which we are grateful. We have seen other small nations be introduced and some become successful, some not so successful.

We set up our own forums for the potential eMaltese state: http://emalta.go-forum.net/ with almost 70 users.

We collected dozens in Gold to ready ourselves for the challenge.

We set up eMaltese embassies on over 10 countries forums.

We produced countless articles reminding people of our cause.

We petitioned the admins.

We did our utmost for the countries in which we resided in the meantime. We had a Maltese CP & MoFA in eUK.

Sadly to this day no eMalta has been created, and there has been no hint that it will be forthcoming. A number of months back also saw the tragic (RL) death of one of the founders of this organisation (Malta_1990), who had campaigned tirelessly and been the backbone of the campaign.

In recent months the organisation has become less active, and no longer functions in the same manner. All avenues have perhaps been explored and while we would still like to see eMalta introduced, we accept the likelihood that after 2.5 years of campaigning, it still does not look likely. Without Malta_1990 it is difficult to keep up the same momentum, and the eMalta forums have fallen silent.

It it with regret that the Maltese Mission announces its closure. Thank you to all those who supported us, voted for our articles and donated to the organisation.

Particular thanks to those 68 members who signed up on our forums and pledged their eRepublik futures to the island nation.

All the best, and lets get on with eRepublik!
