Greetings,

There's no hiding the fact that we have been bruised and hurt but as we all know it isn't about how hard you get hit, it's about how often you get back up. We can learn from our mistakes and from those of the past, we can also be inspired by great achievements as well... it's in times like these that we really need to dig deep and draw strength and new ideas from past successes.

It's for this reason that this article will include a bit of a history lesson to accompany an idea i want to propose.

There cannot be any doubt that we are all determined to win back our homeland, to beat the French and Germans back and then gloat to our hearts content in their media like they have to us. But we need to come to a consensus about the right way to go about this. In my eyes we can't continue in the same fashion as we have been. Our allies are generally too preoccupied with their own troubles at the moment to be able to aid us much, and despite my own longing to free our country as soon as possible, it is because of the other wars our allies are in that i want to propose something rather drastic...

An organised mass migration.

There are so many positives to such a move if we can overcome the longing to liberate the UK immediately (which in all probability and with the odds we face, would just be a waste of our already scarce resources).

I'm not promoting a surrender, but a tactical retreat to continue the fighting from a better position. We have of course our own precedent for such an action.

Dunkirk // V.E.Day

In 1940 from the 27th May until the 4th June, having been cut off by the German Army, over 388,000 men were evacuated from Dunkirk. Much of the fleet that came to their rescue were private little boats making trip after trip. These men lived to fight another day.

But i want to discuss something that many of you may have already heard of or know but it still doesn't hurt to take inspiration or perhaps a sense of everything will work out if you keep perservering.

The Serbian Retreat in WWI.

On 7 October 1915, the small Kingdom of Serbia was invaded by a combined German and Austro-Hungarian force signalling the beginning of the Great War. This was followed by Bulgaria also joining on the side of the Central Powers just a week later.

The Serbian Army faced impossible odds and despite having Allies, they were at that time preoccupied. Hugely outnumbered and outgunned the Serb General Radomir Putnik concluded what was no doubt the toughest decision of his life, He ordered a full retreat of the Serbian military south and west through Montenegro and into Albania to cross the mountains. Along with the army both the Government and King of Serbia also took this journey into exile.

The goal was simple, to reach the Adriatic in order to meet allied ships and then to be shipped across to Corfu, eventually being able to continue the fighting alongside her allies.

Though the weather was terrible (having to cross during winter), the roads were poor and the army had to help the tens of thousands of civilians who had retreated alongside the soldiers. Many thousands died, it was an incredibly tough route but this meant that the German and Bulgarian armies were unable to follow.

The Serbian Army however did make it to Corfu and then went on to fight for herself and her allies with great success, it must've been quite a feeling to finally succeed and to march back into their homeland and liberate it alongside their allies.

The lesson is clear to me, when facing impossible odds and with allies too busy to make enough of an impact then a retreat is often the best course of action. Especially if it was to mean we could then make the difference in a conflict one of our allies is in. If an Ex-Pat MU can turn the tide in an important enough place than perhaps we can free up some allies to come and help us RW our homeland back. We can take the tension off and most of all we could gain respect in the eyes of the world.

I can't say that i have any idea of where we as eUK'ers would be most able to make a vital difference to our Alliance right now, nor how many would go or the feasibility of it all. But i can see that there are many benefits, if we could have a (some) UK MU's in a strategically useful nation to our alliance, with possibly citizenship as well to give both ourselves a production boost and also the nation an economic boost too then we can keep the fight going without our damage being futile. Those who produce for the BEF or Government schemes could benefit greatly.

I hope you enjoyed this article and that perhaps it will spark some sort of discussion and give some hope. And remember:
