God Save the Queen: Interview with Maine Coon

Day 2,795, 04:22 Published in Germany Croatia by Nathan Maximillian Stark

Greeting, friends and comrades.
This article is a continuation of my series of interviews, which began a couple of articles back with my interview with the best pony of them all, ilphen. This time around, I traveled to the other constituent part of our beloved German-Danish Confederation. As Germans and Danes have been good friends since time immemorial, I had no issues entering the nation and finding my way to Marselisborg Palace, summer residence of the Danish Royal Family. There, I was welcomed by none other than Her Majesty Queen of Denmark, Maine Coon, who graciously agreed to an interview. What follows are her honest thoughts, opinions and experiences. Enjoy.

NMS: Hi! Thank you for agreeing to this interview and giving as a minute of your precious time. For starters, could you tell us something about yourself? Who is Maine Coon?
Maine Coon: She is a RL Dane and mother of 2 grown up sons, who spends way too much time here 😛 If I´m not here, I might be out with my camera taking pictures which has become a big hobby of mine.

NMS: How and when did you find out about eRepublik?
Maine Coon: I played Travian before, but after 6 servers I stopped from day to day as the game was starting to control my life. After a year or so, some friends from Travian asked for my help in eRepublik. I said yes and said numerous times that it was boring and that I would stop. But now 4 years later I´m still here ... 😃

NMS: What's your favorite aspect of the game?
Maine Coon: Without a doubt the community and the moderator team.

NMS: How much time daily do you spend on eRepublik?
Maine Coon: Uhh, way too much like said before. I log in when I wake up, and log out when I leave for bed late at night.

NMS: You hold the title ‘Queen of Denmark’. Is being the Queen hard? What are your main responsibilities and what are you most focusing on?
Maine Coon: It is not that hard, as Denmark is a small nation. What we/I focus on the most would probably be to keep our country safe from PTO attacks. Meaning a lot of coordination in the parties etc. Besides that I guess I´m like the one every Dane know, as I'm always here, and gladly talk to and help everyone asking.

NMS: Tell us something about eDenmark and eDanish community. What makes eDanes stand out from the rest of the eWorld?
Maine Coon: How many days do we have for this ? 😛 LOL
Jokes aside, Denmark is special because of its size, and because we put the country before personal gain. If we need people to move or to vote somewhere, the people move as asked because the safety of the country is at stake. It is special because, we might have a dictator or/and a President but we still decide democratically, and often in teamwork with our union partner Germany.

NMS: Tell us something about eDenmark’s political scene. Are there any major disagreements among the parties, or are they cooperating?
Maine Coon: The parties might as well be one, as we work together like told in last question. Because of our size and the many PTO attacks, we have to.

NMS: What do you think is the biggest problem eDenmark is currently faced with?
Maine Coon: Inactivity, just like in many other countries in the eworld I guess.

NMS: You’re one of the original founders of German – Danish Confederation, Germark, which has been in existence for over three years now. Tell us something about how it all began. What led you to that decision? Is eDenmark satisfied with the union?
Maine Coon: We have a union since 1st of January 2012 and it was created after a break with Sweden, and yet another PTO attempt that actually succeeded. To find help, we couldn’t turn to Sweden again, as differences had shown to be far too big. So we turned south and asked if we could help each other in some way. We found a way to work together, and have been doing that ever since. We work as one in most cases, mainly the war/protection part, but at the same time both countries have Presidents/dictators, governments and congress and their own politics. People often asked me how this union can keep working, and in my opinion its because we work hard to make it work. Of course we have ups and downs like in any other relationship, but in the end it usually works out and the union stand strong.

NMS: I’m sure you’ve seen some interesting battles, events and happenings during your time here. Which moment would you like to single out as your favorite?
Maine Coon: I will have to admit I can’t answer that question, as I see the battles fought here and now, and my memory doesn’t save battles and wars years back.

NMS: In your opinion, what was the best eRepublik alliance (to date)?
Maine Coon: eDenmark did not join any alliance in all my time here, in order for the union to work. We follow the German interests and the best I remember would be Terra I guess.

NMS: Who do you consider to be eDenmark’s best and most faithful friends?
Maine Coon: Germany and Russia.

NMS: What changes do you think should be implemented into eRepublik?
Maine Coon: Uhh, I have many ideas, but as a moderator I better keep them to myself. One thing I miss though, is a shoutbox for President/dictator in order to speak to the entire country without having the whole world reading everything in our press.

NMS: Many players are leaving this game due to dissatisfaction with the changes, lack of activity or other reasons. What keeps you coming back for more?
Maine Coon: The community and the moderator team. They have become my second family after 4 years, and leaving them behind would be very hard. So for now I´m staying, for eDenmark and for the team.

NMS: What do you think about eGermany’s community and eGermany as a whole?
Maine Coon: I've always liked the German community and I always felt welcome, as person and as player. I found my ingame husband in Germany ( Freiheitskämpfer
NMS: Thank you for your time! Is there anything else you would like to say or add for our readers?
Maine Coon: God save the Queen!
Gud bevare Danmark!
Lots of love to my husband! To all eDanes and eGermans, thanks for working so hard for the union.

And to Maine Coon, thank you once again for this interview, which gave us some insight into eDanes and eDanish community. If you've liked the article, vote, subscribe, endorse & shout. If not, tell me what I'm doing wrong via the comments or PM. Who should I interview next? If you have any suggestions for future interviews, post them here.

Until next time, yours truly
