I just want to do a reality check. Is this party still viable for the Netherlands?

We need 25 gold to establish the GLD once and for all and be back in business. Money that is donated in excess of the 25 gold will be donated into the new parties funds to finance advertising.

So you are actually going to revive a party based on the same foundations the party once stood for?
Yup.

What were these foundations again? I forgot
We've always been a party for people from every nationality. We've always been a party were no-one forces you to think in one direction (not saying other parties do that, don't flame me!) and we've always allowed party members with different opinions to speakout their minds even if they were not in line with the partyline.

That's weird, why allow people to speak their minds when it is not in line with what has been decided in the party internally?
Because we believe in strong characters. They have always been the base of our success. If we all agree on something it means you will vote with us, but you are still allowed your own opinion and you can voice that opinion wherever you want.

There must be a catch...
No really, there is none.

So we decide against a lowering of the taxes and I am against...
Then you vote: 'against', but still are able to debate and convince otherwise. We feel there is a BIG distinction between individual members and the party. Yes we are a democratic group, where we decide in majorities, but individual members are always needed to go against the grain.

Why is it so important to have people disagreeing within the party?
It helps us stay awake and on our feet. It also means we're representing the populace, which is what we're here for. You vote with the majority. However: We are not forcing you to speak words you do not believe in: you would only be unconvincing.

So you need money?
Yup, a one time donation to the GLD HQ to rebuild the parties HQ and furniture. We don't do it luxury, but we want our sauna and swimming pool back. Oh yeah and we have hot ladies.

I would like to propose a new law. Can I join the GLD to make my voice heard?
Yes! That's the spirit!

Okay, here it is: I would like to propose a law that provides for retirement payments in recognition of prior service to be made to a retired partner, and that is in effect immediately before retirement begins, if such income is part of a series of substantially equal periodic payments (not less frequently than annually which may include income described in subparagraphs (A) through (H))

So why did the GLD stop to exist?
Well the Dutch government decided to 'loan' the country for a short while to our friendly UK neighbours... and guess what? The Brits didn't give us back our political parties! 😛

(because they were way to cool for them of course! Now the UK has been enriched with I&W, LSD and of course our beloved GLD!!).

But all the cool people went away, right?
