GLD for Congress

The Green Liberal Democrats may not have been with many, but they did much last congress term. In this article we will shed some light on just what GLD did and how we feel we need to move on in the very near future.

Re-cap on past election
Last congress elections we did well, unfortunately some of our members came through fraudulent actions which we have - succesfully - reported ourselves. A member of GLD with whom we had no contact,BBQHawaii, got suspended for using multi's. He used his multi's in the elections as well jumping from 1 vote to 11 in mere minutes.

Another GLD candidate who got elected into congress, was later removed. Gromenauer_46 did receive enough votes for his seat, but so did Cruwdy - an I&W member. Because of an ingame error Gromenauer got the seat, while Cruwdy had the seniority in terms of experience. This was later settled by ingame admins, we also gave up our congress seat here in this forum as we believe that the forum should always follow ingame events.

So only three congress members remaine😛 Trinc, Paladijn and Hugo MacFartalot.

What did we do?
Having only three congress members, there is only so much you can do. However it didn't stop the GLD congress members from making their own proposals and putting them before our fellow congress members.

- Income Tax Cut = We had success with our proposal for an income tax cut, which we managed to get through with a -2% drop. This means: more money in your pocket each time you work.

-Proposal for a Q5 Defense system = We proposed the placing of a Q5 Defense system in Brussels, to heighten the defensive wall if we would ever become the target of another country or a RW. This proposal has not been implemented.

We also actively participated in congress debate, where we can see a 100% participation from the GLD delegation.

What did we not do?
One of the things we feel is important as a Green party is to show our commitment to our new, younger and/ore inexperienced fellow eUNL members. We want to do more on that topic and are trying hard - on our private forums - to come up with a solution on how we can be more that party where inexperienced eUNL'ers can come for aid or advice.

Government Transparency
We are all for that, however: not being in the government is keeping us in the position where we only request transparency and cannot do much to make it transparent. An opinionated piece from one of our congress members aside, we will keep this point as a big priority. We - the citizens of eUNL - must know what happens with our taxes and receive proper information on how state spending is justified. On that topic we commend and applaud our current minister of Finance. Seemingly inexperienced, he took up the glove and delivered giving true meaning to the words: transparency.

Coming elections
Elections are only a few days away. We will try to manage our votes better and see if we can enable more of our members to actively participate in congress. For that, however, we need your help. If you are reading this and support the GLD cause, we ask you to vote strategically. On election day we will post a link in this newspaper, which will lead to a document where you can see who needs a vote the most.

Vote wise, vote strategically!!
