By now you may have read the eRepublik Insider announcing that Hospitals will no longer give you any more Wellness than the amount you lose from fighting. You may have also seen the forum post by admin announcing exactly when: Day 848.

By the time you read this, it may already be 'too late'. When you use the Hospital today, you do not have to fight five times. Instead, end your day as close to 100 Wellness as possible. Starting tomorrow, you won't get this kind of free Wellness from healing.

Do not "kamikaze" anymore, until and unless this changes again, because the Hospital will not recover the Wellness for those fights the next day. Fight only what you can budget for that day: 5 fights from the Hospital and more only if you use Gifts or Wellness boxes (or Q5 Moving Tickets 😛).

What's the Deal with Houses and high-Q Food?

After this change, you will be losing 1 Wellness from training and between 1 and 5 Wellness from working, each day. You will also need to keep a minimum Wellness of 80 from day to day, just to be able to do the normal 5 fights per day, which the Hospital will allow. This is because you cannot fight below 40 Wellness.

Here is the amount of Food + Housing you need to cover working and training in each Quality of company, for maintaining a minimum of 80 Wellness from day to day:

Q5 Company: A minimum combination of 9. For example, Q5 House and Q4 Food.
Q4 Company: A minimum combination of 8. For example, Q5 House and Q3 Food.
Q3 Company: A minimum combination of 6. For example, Q3 House and Q3 Food.
Q2 Company: A minimum combination of 5. For example, Q3 House and Q2 Food.
Q1 Company: A minimum combination of 3. For example, Q1 House and Q2 Food.

As you can see, you can get by in a Q1 Company in the future by either a Q1 House and Q2 Food, or by buying Q3 Food, either of which are accessible to most players. In higher Quality companies, it becomes much more important to have a good House.

Here is the amount of Food + Housing or Gifts you need to cover working and training in each Quality of company, for maintaining the maximum of 100 Wellness from day to day. They assume a wealthy person (who may have an Organization and can afford the best House needed).

Q5 Company: To recover the 6 Wellness, use a Q5 House, Q1 Food, and 3 Q1 Gifts.
Q4 Company: To recover the 5 Wellness, use a Q5 House, Q1 Food, and 2 Q1 Gifts (or Q5 Food).
Q3 Company: To recover the 4 Wellness, use a Q5 House, Q1 Food, and 1 Q1 Gift (or Q3 Food).
Q2 Company: To recover the 3 Wellness, use a Q5 House and Q1 Food.
Q1 Company: To recover the 2 Wellness, use a Q3 House and Q1 Food.

The relative value of high-Quality Food and Q1 Gifts may change if prices change. You can also play with a wellness calculator, like the one at CCCP or the one at erepublik.ws to make plans.

Employers will also have to adjust. Expect minimum Wellness requirements to drop down to 80 Wellness, with a raise possible for those at the very highest Wellness.
