What follows is a statement of the ideals of the Greek Independent Party relating to the actions of congress candidates from GIP. It is summarized in the subtitle, Keeping Greece at Heart.

Πιθανόν ένα από τα πιό βασικά σημεία που όλοι στο GIP συμφωνούμε, είναι ότι το κόμμα δεν έχει απολύτως καμμία σχέση με RL πολιτική αντιστοίχηση. Οποιαδήποτε δήλωση σχετικά με το πώς το eRepublik πρέπει να παίζεται και προέρχεται από -χωρίς σκέψη- αναλογία με την RL, θα πρέπει να αναθεωρηθεί. Η συζήτηση θα πρέπει να γίνεται με όρους του "Νέου Κόσμου" και όχι με τη λογική της RL. Ο στόχος θα πρέπει να είναι προς την πρόοδο της Ελλάδας στο eRepublik. Προερχόμενοι από διαφορετικά υπόβαθρα, αλλά αναζητώντας το ίδιο πράγμα, να παίξουμε το παιγνίδι και να το παίξουμε καλά, ενωθήκαμε όλοι μαζί στο GIP. Η ένωση μας αυτή, μας κάνει υπερήφανους γιατί κρατάει την Ελλάδα στο επίκεντρο.



Τα μέλη και οι υποψήφιοι του GIP ενθαρύνωνται να χρησιμοποιήσουν και να συζητήσουν το οποιοδήποτε επιχείρημα, αρκεί να υπάρχει λογική, ανεξάρτητα από το ποιός το προτείνει και γιά ποιόν λόγο. Αντίστοιχα, καθώς η λογική του καθενός είναι διαφορετική, τα μέλη του GIP πιθανόν να έχουν διαφορετική θέση σε προτάσεις άσκησης πολιτικής. Γιά παράδειγμα, η λογική της αύξησης ή μείωσης φόρων και κατά πόσο, είναι θέμα συζήτησης και προσωπικής θεώρησης. Και ενώ υπάρχει αυτή η διαφορετικότητα, η κοινή μας συνισταμένη είναι το συμφέρον της Ελλάδας και όχι απλώς η εξυπηρέτηση μικροπολιτικού συμφέροντος ή πολιτικής φιλοσοφίας. Πιστεύουμ πως η Ελλάδα μπορεί να πάει καλύτερα όταν όλοι μας θα κάνουμε αυτό που πιστεύουμε καλύτερο γιά την χώρα, όλοι μαζί σαν ομάδα, ειδικά με τέτοια αντικειμενικά και ξεκάθαρα μέτρα όσο ξεκάθαρα είναι και τα κέρδη μιάς εταιρίας ή το πόσο damage μπορούν να κάνουν οι πολίτες ανά μάχη.

Ο αναγνώστης μπορεί να εντυπωσιαστεί με το πόσο "βαρετός" μπορεί να είναι ο ρόλος ενός βουλευτή. Μέχρις ενός σημείου έχει δίκιο. Ενα από τα καλύτερα πράγματα που μπορεί να κάνει ένας βουλευτής είναι να υπηρετήσει στη θέση του πιστά και χωρίς να κάνει κάτι αρνητικό. Το να βάλουμε προσωπικές φιλοδοξίες πάνω από το καλό της χώρας μας, σημαίνει προδοσία γιά μιά από τις βασικές αρχές του κόμματος μας, ότι δηλαδή δουλεύουμε όλοι μαζί και σαν κοινότητα και σαν ομάδα. Εϊναι περίπου κάτι σαν τις συντεχνίες του World of Warcraft ή του Counterstrike, ενώ κάθε ένας από εμάς προσπαθεί να ανέλθει ατομικά, γνωρίζουμε πως να βάζουμε το καλό της ομάδας πάνω από όλα.



Παραθέτουμε τις δυνατότητες στο Κοινοβούλιο και πως ο κάθε υποψήφιος του GIP, ακολουθώντας τις αρχές μας, μπορεί να ενεργήσει.

Donate: Μεταφορές χρημάτων στο Hellenic Depository ψηφίζονται θετικά και προτείνονται ανάλογα με τις ανάγκες.
Issue Money: Εκδοση δραχμών ψηφίζονται θετικά ή/και προτείνονται όταν το Ηellenic Depository ή άλλα προγράμματα το έχουν ανάγκη.
Tax Changes: Εδώ πρέπει να υπάρχει σοβαρή διαβούλευση και περίσκεψη. Εάν η αλλαγή στους φόρους δεν είναι τεκμηριωμένη με αριθμούς και επιχειρήματα, δεν έχει βάση.
Minimum Wage Change: Αυτό δεν πρόκειται να προταθεί εκτός και άν η αξία της δραχμής υποτιμηθεί αρκετά. Η λογική της κοινωνικής δικαιοσύνης της RL δεν έχει νόημα εδώ. Σε αυτό το παιγνίδι, παίκτες με skill 0 δεν παράγουν σχεδόν τίποτε και πολύ συχνά παραιτούνται και από το παιγνίδι μετά από μόλις μία μέρα. Εδώ, ο ελάχιστος μισθός είναι παρελθόν μετά από δύο ημέρες συμμετοχής.
Citizen Fee Change: Και αυτό δεν αλλάζει εκτός και αν η δραχμή γινεί πολύ αδύνατη. Οι νέοι παίκτες έχουν αρκετά εφόδια. Η αύξηση αυτή απιβαρύνει το σύστημα με έξοδα που κατά βάση είναι χαμένα. Περίπου το 75% δεν θα φτάσει στο level 6.
Impeachment: Αυτό χρησιμοποιείται μόνο σε έκτακτη ανάγκη, όπως είναι η απουσία του Προέδρου από το παιγνίδι (ban ή κάτι αντίστοιχο). Ενας από τους λόγους είναι ότι αυτό το εργαλείο το χάνουμε για τις επόμενες 7 μέρες, κατά τις οποίες μπορεί πραγματικά να μας χρειαστεί.

Οι παραπάνω είναι προτάσεις που γίνονται από βουλευτές. Πιό κάτω θα δούμε τις προτάσεις που μπορεί να κάνει ο Πρόεδρος.

New Citizen Message: Εάν υπάρχει βελτίωση από το προηγούμενο, το ψηφίζουμε.
Mutual Protection Pact: Εδώ υπάρχει θετική ψήφος. Τα έξοδα και οι λοιπές διευθετήσεις συνήθως έχουν ήδη γίνει από τον Πρόεδρο.
War και Peace: Αυτή είναι μιά αρμοδιότητα του Προέδρου και του υπουργικού συμβουλίου να αποφασίσουν για την ασφάλεια της χώρας. Οταν φτάνει για ψήφιση, είναι ειλημένη απόφαση.
Hospitals και Defense Systems: Ενώ συνήθως η ψήφος είναι θετική, ο αριθμός και η τοποθεσία είναι στο κάθε μέλος του Κοινοβουλίου να αποφασίσει.

Υπάρχουν και κάποιες ακόμα αρμοδιότητες των βουλευτών, οι οποίες στηρίζονται στη διαβούλευση, την οποία και υποστηρίζουμε. Οι πιό σημαντικές συζητούνται και ψηφίζονται στο φόρουμ της Ελλάδας πρίν κατατεθούν σε ψήφιση στη Βουλή. Αυτό γίνεται επειδή κάθε μέλος έχει μόνο δύο προτάσεις, οι οποίες πρέπει να χρησιμοποιηθούν με οικονομία. Αλλο ένα σημείο υψηλής σπουδαιότητας είναι και το ότι οι βουλευτές μας θα ακολουθούν τις οδηγίες του Υπουργείου μετανάστευσης για τις υπηκοότητες που μπορούν να δίνονται.



Πως τα πήγαν οι βουλευτές μας τον περασμένο μήνα?

Αν αισθάνεστε ότι έχετε ξαναδιαβάσει αυτό το άρθρο, ίσως και να το έχετε κάνει. Είχε δημοσιευτεί πριν από ένα μήνα, και είδαμε πως δεν υπάρχει ανάγκη να αλλάξουμε κάτι εντελώς.

Το Greek Independent Party πήγε πολύ καλά στις βουλευτικές εκλογές τον περασμένο μηνά, κερδίζοντας 10 από τις 40 έδρες και ακόμα μία με το μέλος της EΠΔ Columbia. Όμως αυτό ήταν απλά η αρχή.

Όλοι οι βουλευτές που εκλέχθηκαν με το GIP τον περασμένο μήνα δώρισαν τα 5 GOLD στο Hellenic Depository σεβόμενοι την παράδοση και τις αρχές μας. Οι βουλευτές μας ψήφιζαν υπεύθυνα και συμμετείχαν στις συζητήσεις του φόρουμ της eGreece. Αποφύγαμε υπερβολικές και άστοχες προτάσεις.

Όμως, δεν ήταν όλα «ρόδινα». Κάποια από τα μέλη μας δεν ήταν τόσο ενεργά προς το τέλος της θητείας τους λόγο RL υποχρεώσεων. Ένας από τους βουλευτές μας έδωσε κάποιες υπηκοότητες χωρίς να ζητήσει την έγκριση του Υπουργείου Εσωτερικών. Στο κόμμα το συζητήσαμε και με ψηφοφορία κάναμε ξεκάθαρο ότι θα συνεννοούμαστε πάντα με το Υπουργείο πριν δοθεί κάποια υπηκοότητα, όπως άλλωστε εξαρχής είχαμε δηλώσει. Προειδοποιήσαμε το βουλευτή ότι εάν δε συμμορφωθεί από δω και στο εξής, δε θα ξανακατέβει στις εκλογές. Για αυτό και για όποια άλλα λάθη, το μόνο που μπορούμε να κάνουμε είναι να ζητήσουμε συγγνώμη και να παλέψουμε για να βελτιωθούμε και να τα αποφύγουμε στο μέλλον.

Πως προχωράει το GIP?

Ο αριθμός των μελών μας συνεχίζει να αυξάνεται. Πιστεύουμε ότι αυτό οφείλεται στο ότι το GIP προσφέρει στους Έλληνες του eRepublik ένα κόμμα, που δε συμμετέχει με σκοπό την προώθηση RL πολιτικών και την πολεμική σε κάθε τι αντίθετο, πράγμα που μας δίνει τη δυνατότητα να παίρνουμε ορθολογικές, ακριβείς και κατάλληλες αποφάσεις για να βελτιώσουμε τη θέση της Ελλάδας στο παιχνίδι που αγαπάμε.

Επιπλέον, είμαστε πιστοί στις αρχές μας με τρόπους που υπερβαίνουν απλά μια υπεύθυνη θέση στην κυβέρνηση. Έχουμε έρθει σε επαφή με πάνω από 1000 νέους Έλληνες και τους έχουμε προσφέρει πληροφορίες, δωρεάν φαγητό, δώρα και εισιτήρια, που τους έχουν βοηθήσει να προσαρμοστούν, να μπορέσουν να πολεμήσουν και να μεταφερθούν σε περιοχή με Hospital. Έχουμε δώσει επίσης όπλα σε Έλληνες για να τους βοηθήσουμε να ανέβουν βαθμούς. Θα συνεχίσουμε να το κάνουμε αυτό το ίδιο περήφανα και με την ίδια γενναιοδωρία προς όλους όπως κάναμε τη μέρα που η Ελλάδα κατέκτησε την Central Anatolia.

Δεν είμαστε ένα κόμμα που τα δίνει όλα πριν από κάθε εκλογές για να γιορτάσει την επόμενη μέρα των εκλογών. Είμαστε προσηλωμένοι στην ανάπτυξη και τη συνεισφορά που δεν έχει όριο ή προσωπικό όφελος σα στόχο. Δεν ενδιαφερόμαστε μόνο για τα εσωκομματικά, αλλά και για τις υποθέσεις του κράτους, και γι αυτό το λόγο ευχαρίστως συμμετείχαμε στην παρούσα κυβέρνηση. Ευχαριστούμε όλους όσους μας έχουν δώσει ψήφο εμπιστοσύνης, είτε είναι στο GIP είτε είναι αυτοί με τους οποίους είμαστε περήφανοι που δουλεύουμε μαζί, για το καλό όλων στη χώρα μας.

Perhaps the one thing that everyone in the Greek Independent Party agrees upon is that the party is entirely divorced from real-life political concerns. Any statement about how eRepublik should be played that stems from unthinking analogy to the real world is to be given better deliberation. The debate must first and always proceed according to how the New World works, not how the real world is. The end goal must always advance the good of Greece in eRepublik. Coming from disparate backgrounds but sharing a common desire to play the game and play it well, we band together under the GIP affiliation as our sign. It is a banner that we are proud to bear, as it keeps Greece at the center.



The members and candidates of the Greek Independent Party are encouraged to consider any argument with the use of reason, no matter the presenter or the conclusion. Accordingly, as not everyone reasons identically, members of the Greek Independent Party may differ on individual policy positions. For example, the merits of raising or lowering Income Tax, Import Tax, and VAT—and by how much—are a source of perennial debate where each person often harbors their own favorite theories. While the variation is there, the common thread is the support of policies in the national interest of Greece as a virtual nation, not just in the interest of any subsection and not as a consequence of a philosophical attitude. We believe that Greece is best off when everyone does as much as they are able towards the goal of improving our position as a country as a whole, as a team, especially by such objective measures as the amount of revenues produced by our companies and the amount of damage our citizens can produce per battle.

The reader may be impressed, eventually, with how routine being a congress member can be. This is a fair statement. One of the best things a congress member can do is to serve in the position faithfully and without event. To put personal ambition above the good of Greece is to betray a core belief of the Greek Independent Party, that we are working together as a community and a team. It is not unlike any raiding guild in World of Warcraft or clan in Counterstrike; while each individual strives to be the best that he or she can be, they also know very well how to put the group's goals before their own.



Here is a review of all the powers of Congress and how a GIP candidate might, if following the principles of the party, approach them.

Donate: Withdrawals of currency to the Hellenic Depository are voted Yes and are proposed as necessary.
Issue Money: Issues of GRD are proposed or voted Yes when the Hellenic Depository and other programs need GRD.
Tax Changes: These are not to be proposed lightly or argued cavalierly. If the change is not clearly and adequately justified, it will have a hard time of it. Real numbers and persuasive reasoning are necessary.
Minimum Wage Change: This would not be proposed unless the value of the GRD depreciated greatly. (Extraneous and inapplicable notions of social justice don't enter in here. In this world, skill 0 players produce almost nothing and often quit the game after working once. In this world, people rise well above minimum in a few days.)
Citizen Fee Change: This likewise is not changing unless the GRD became much weaker. New players have adequate means. Raising this burdens the system for an expense that is mostly wasted (roughly, about 75% won't make it to level 6).
Impeachment: This is used only in emergency, such as the absence of the President from the game (as in a ban). The reason is that pressing this button prevents us from having the tool for another 7 days, during which time it may become an actual emergency. Otherwise, the will of the people is respected.

The above are laws that Congress can propose; below are Presidential proposals.

New Citizen Message: If it is an improvement on the existing one, it is voted Yes.
Mutual Protection Pact: These are voted Yes. The funds and other arrangements have been made by the Presidents.
War and Peace: It is the responsibility of the President and military counsel to strategize Greece's defense in coordination with allies. By the time it comes to vote, it is voted accordingly.
Hospitals and Defense Systems: While a vote of Yes is expected by the time of actual proposal, the debate over number and placement of infrastructure is one that each congress member weighs in on.

There are a few other powers of congress members, some of them by convention, conventions that GIP supports. Most importantly, all proposals are debated and voted on the eGreeece forum before the proposal is used in eRepublik. This is because congress members have only two proposals, which should be used economically. Another point of high importance is that congress members follow the directives of the Ministry of Immigration and do not make rogue appointments of citizenship.



How Did Congress Do Last Time?

If you get the feeling you have read this before, you may have. It was published a month ago, and we have seen no need to compromise.

The Greek Independent Party did very well in the congress elections last month, winning 10 of the 40 seats and an additional win for EPD member columbia. However, this is only where things begin.

All of the congress members elected through GIP last month donated the 5 GOLD to the Hellenic Depository demanded by respect of tradition. The congress members voted responsibly and participated in the discussions of the eGreece forum. Frivolous proposals were avoided.

However, all is not roses. Some of our congress members became inactive towards the end of their terms due to the demands of real life. One of our congress members inappropriately made appointments of citizenship without approval of the Ministry of Interior. Within the party we discussed it and re-affirmed by vote that we will always cooperate with the administration on this, as it had already been written into our platform. He has been appropriately warned for his actions, and if it is ever repeated, he will never run for congress again. For this and any other faults, we can only ask for forgiveness and strive to do better.

How Is GIP Doing?

We continue to grow in membership. We believe this is due to the proposition that GIP offers to the Greeks of eRepublik, of a party uninvolved in the vagaries and polemics of real-life politicking so as to make more rational, accurate, and suitable decisions to improve the position of Greece in this game that we like to play.

Moreover, we deliver on this in ways that go beyond a responsible place in government. We have contacted over 1000 young Greeks with information, free Food, free Gifts, and free Moving Tickets that has helped them get situated, get able to fight, and get to a Hospital region. We have also given free Weapons to Greeks to help them rank up. We will continue to do so proudly and with equal generosity to all, as we did on the day that Greece annexed Central Anatolia.

We are not a party that gears up on the 16th and celebrates on the 26th. We are committed to growth and contribution that has no limit or selfish aim. We think not only about internal party affairs but also the affairs of our state, which is why we gladly participate in the current administration. We thank all who have given us a vote of confidence, whether they are inside of GIP or the many with whom we are proud to work, for the good of all in our country.
