Germany Wiped Out As French Resistance Continues

Day 782, 09:44 Published in USA USA by Desertfalcon

To the delight of EDEN the last German region fell yesterday when Polish troops marched into Saarland. Late in the battle it looked as if Germany would pull it out, however a coordinated attack by EDEN forces provided for a narrow victory. A German resistance movement has yet to spring up but judging by the recent successes of the French resistance it wouldn't be too surprising if Germany employed the same resistance war tactic. Resistance wars tend to give the advantage to the resistance since they are often overlooked when conquest wars are going on and the resistance decides when and where to start the battles. The resistance also has nothing to lose since if they lose nothing really changes.

In France the French rebels were able to take control of Franche-Comte via a resistance war after losing Burgundy in a conquest war to Spain. The success of that resistance war has encouraged people to fight for the defenders in the resistance wars against France as can be seen by the increases in the sizes of the walls in resistance wars across France. This new strategy is hurting the Spanish in the conquest war against France though. The Spanish attacked Corsica yesterday in hopes of taking the French island but with just two hours left the wall is about 600k over the secure line. While 600K is very tankable things will be a bit more difficult for EDEN since they just had a major tanking operation last night. The Spanish also need to be careful since they retreated from Franche-Comte just a few hours ago, this means that if Spain doesn't play their cards right and keep France blocked should they lose Corsica, the French could start their own counter attack.

Currently there are three resistance wars raging across occupied France. This time however, Spain and Poland are doing more to contain the rebels, the polish have the walls in Loire Valley and Lorraine above 250K while the Spanish have the wall in Limousin above 80K. These walls should be enough to prevent the resistance wars from succeeding unless PHX devotes a good amount of gold and troops to tanking down the walls. These battles still have about six hours to go though so anything can happen.

In Belgium there is a nail bitter going on as the U.K. is trying to defend Flanders from the Spanish. The wall is at about 50K now with only two hours left. The U.K. was able to retake Brussels yesterday and the British really need to keep control of those two regions to make sure that Spain does not return them to Belgium. If Belgium were to return as a free state then it would be difficult for the U.K. to regain control of those regions. The Spanish attempted to keep Britain from retreating by starting a resistance war in Flanders as well, however that doesn't have a good chance of success right now.
