Hello eCanadians!
The time has come to elect your congress for the month of September. I call it "your congress" because it truly is yours. Congress' main purpose should be to benefit every eCanadian and not select individuals. Instead of having a congress who only looks to benefit themselves, let's have a congress that looks our for every eCanadian.
I am running for the CPP in New Brunswick for the September Congressional Elections.
How would I benefit congress?
Firstly, I am an active member of the eCanada community. I am on eRepublik for a good portion of my day. I occasionally come on in the mornings and am always on in the evening. I also frequent the eCanada and CPP forums. I try to read through most threads, especially those in the congress section. If I don't read it, I at least skim it. It's important for a congressman to be up-to-date on the goings of the congress and eCanada as a whole; reading the forums is a great way to keep informed. I am also on IRC for most of my evening. If elected, I promise to continue keeping up-to-date and accessible to all eCanadians.
Secondly, I am not going in without a clue of how our government operates. For the month of September, I have had the fortune of being the deputy minister of defense under Aeriala. Having this opportunity allowed me to gain insight on what goes on behind closed doors. I have been able to work with colleagues in the ministry of defense on battle orders, war strategy and countless other things. I also have access to the closed doors sections of congress and cabinet. I have been able to see and learn about what goes into starting a war, communicating with allies, signing MPPs, etc... Being a cabinet minister also has responsibilities. I have made my best effort to perform all my duties. Even though, if elected, I will be a first time congressman, I will already have an understanding of many of the issues and topics being discussed by congress.
What issues would I focus on?
I would focus on many issues but the most notable would be MU funding and assisting new players. I am a supporter of giving all we can to MUs. Being able to create and maintain strong armies is a key concept of eRepublik. Without our MUs, eCanada couldn't survive. I am all for ensuring that our MUs receive the most funding fiscally possible. I would do my best to make certain that all MUs have a chance at receiving equal funding. I am also a supporter of many social programs like the construction program, the new player assistance programs, etc... Getting into eRepublik can be very confusing. There is a ton going on and lots to learn. Programs that point new players in the right direction are not only beneficial to the players themselves but to eCanada as a whole. The more citizens we have, the stronger our country becomes and the better funded they are, the more influential we are on the world stage.
In conclusion, I would be a good candidate for congress because: I am an active citizen; I already have some experience in our government; I would support MU funding; and because I would support new player assistance programs.
