Fun galore as the world fights

Day 1,220, 13:20 Published in South Africa South Africa by Bobady zoo

Over the last week erepublik has become, dare I say it, exciting. It is not because our lovely admins decided to listen to us; its not because a disastrous change has brought the game to life. This new excitement has been brewing for someone and it seems it is ready to explode (ignore any puns your mind may have concocted). Finally the world’s alliances are talking shape and we can see a new age of war upon us.

The players

The world is at the moment, 3 tiered. We first have the recently renamed Terra (previously PANAM) consisting of amongst others, the United States and Brazil. Then we have ONE (Previously known as NWO), who is built around the fab four: Serbia, Hungary, Spain and Poland. And finally there is good old EDEN with Cromania still at the four front of the alliance. The last few days have seen many stale wars come alive and untold damage being brought upon us.

The Wars

It’s considered the most mundane and repetitive war in erepublik, every other day for the last half a year you could see a battle, often ending in a stalemate. It was one of the wars which made erepublik the game it is today. I am of course talking about the Hungarian- Romanian conflict. Since Hungary was brought back onto the map, we have seen little success from either side in any battles. Every now and then a region would be conquered only to be returned a few days later. However that has all changed with a series of incredibly close battles in which Hungary has been victorious. It started with a victory in Crisana then it was followed by a victory in the disputed region of Transilvania, and now a third victory Muntaria. These were incredibly close fought battles; especially Transilvania (which I can proudly say I helped in) which came down to the 17th round with both sides tanking there hearts out. It’s been a long time coming but finally the conflict is interesting again; even some Romanians agree.

Serbian and Croatia are another long time war, although it has nothing on Hungary and Romania’s war. This is another case of ONE being successful. Today’s battle Is a perfect example of erepublik at its best. The battle for Central Croatia was one of the game’s most fierce fought battles, possible reminding people of the old battles for North-West Croatia. It came down to the last round, Romper (Croatia’s richest tank) did a remarkable 10 million damage in a losing case as the power of the Serbian army as well as ONE was just too much from Croatia. A thrilling battle, with more likely to follow.

Then we have our two upcoming wars. Brazil has now declared war on Spain, setting up a third front for ONE. This is another war which has been going on for eons. Spain however has a slight problem; they have declared France as their natural enemy and thus do not get the 10% bonus. On the other hand, France has declared Poland as their natural enemy so they do not gain the natural enemy bonus either. Brazil was eager to jump at the opportunity to fight Spain with a 10% advantage. Suddenly the whole region has burst into life. Spain has to hold two fronts as do France, and do Poland (well three) which you will soon see. This is shaping up to be an interesting conflict where clever tactics may be key to try and keep your head above water. Spain will need to find a way to limit the gains Brazil can make, while still pressurizing France. France needs to help their allies by distracting Spain and Poland, something far easier said then done. It should be an interesting fight to watch.

Lastly, and the only new war is the USA’s war against long time ally Poland. It didn’t take much to know this was coming. The Americans had opened up Resistance wars in the Polish held American territory while the Polish spread their seed across Mexico. Glove finally took the plunge, seeing as their NE with Indonesia is over. Poland have a slight problem, the USA is he third nation to make them, their NE so Poland have to fight on three fronts. The German front should not be a problem however France will be difficult to defend against. Poland has two days until they can propose a new NE. Then they will have to make a choice, do they fight the USA for the kicks or France for the resource benefits. Whatever happens, we are sure to see an exhilarating battle!

The world has come alive and I don’t know about you but I am loving it. I am already to buy up a nice wagon full of Q5s and some food and get ready to get involved in what could be some of the game’s greatest battles. It is the rare case we can truly say the eWorld is interesting, let us hope it will not be a let down.
