Frontline Journals - Polish-Slovakian War

Day 725, 08:49 Published in Poland Poland by Smeciak

These are the journals of Polish Army (Wojsko Polskie) soldier Smeciak. I hope you like reading them as much I like writing them! This is a traslation of my first 3 articles. All future articles will be written in both Polish and English.

6 XI 2009, 717 day of the New World, Polish Army camp, Polish-Slovkian border.

Time - 18.00 CET.
Hello everyone in this cold, November evening. I'm in the camp of just recently re-formed Polish Army. Behind me, it have just started - preparation to our firt fight. I already heard buzz of excitment, people ask about their assignment, make sure about what squad thei belong to. Some insubordinate soldier quarrels yet to change a squad for health reasons, but it is just a background. We all know what occurs in a moment - a war, battle, slaughter the Huns!
Quartermasters of our army just started handing out weapons and here, unfortunately, the first disappointment- higher quality weapons have not arrived yet, we will all be fighting with Q1. Oh well. We are also not too comforted by news that our troops stationed in Spain would not be fighting with us, but we all knew about it earlier.
But, but, I am here writing about what is happening, and I didn't write why! Well, yesterday Hungary attacked all regions of our neighbor and ally - Slovakia. We could do nothing but respond to this attack and to defend the Central Slovakia as soon as possible.

Time - 19.00 CET
The battle is closing by and than suddenly there is an order - "We fight 20 minutes before the en of the battle. I reapeat - 20 minutes. Eyes of young soldiers are glowing with anticipation, veteran are calmly polishing their weapons. We wait. But it isn't ease to wait with all thi nervousness. Especially when the next order comes in: "Well after battle must be above 90". It isn't a good thing. No kamikaze means that tomorrow somethin bigger may happen! Maybe tomorrow will b forced to defend our own borders!

Time - 19.40 CET, ETA 00:20, Central Slovakia

No time for thinking, no time for regrets. It is time to FIGHT.
And we fight like this!

I am shooting a movie from a trenches and I am really impressed. Whenever I look I see WP soldiers. It looks impresive and this i just a begining, just our first fight!

Time - 20.00 CET

Battle draws to an end. Some late soldiers still fight. Besides us, of course, fight the Slovaks, but also the Spaniards and the Croats, and many Poles from outside WP. In the meantime, Polish counterstrikes in Eastern Slovakia. And in addition uprising brokes out there! But I think it's just to raise turmoil, to frighten the enemy and take the initiative. Inexorably minutes pass, and the Hungarians are still winning. Time of the batle passed and the suddenly battle moved to the city!
Unfortunately, only for a moment - after a few minutes we reach the sad news - Central Slovakia is occupied by Hungary! But it's not the end. Certainly we won't give up so easily!

8.XI.2009 – Polish Army Camp

Time - 18.30 CET
Sunday night, slightly lazy and somewhat sleepy I reach the WP camp. Some of the soldiers have already arrived. Moods are bad, but probably no one likes the fact that today there is only training fight in Sabah. I talk by phone with the part of people working in Spain - they also yearn for a greater share. Well - training is important, ultimately we have to improve our teamwork.

Time 19.30 CET
Issuing of weapons begins. Q1 again. But this time I will fight, so I happily take these 5 pieces in his hands and dream to use them on Huns not in training. Orders say we fight at 20.05.. But at some point there are new orders - wait for next orders! We just looked at each other, and a big smile crawled on on our faces - something will happen!

Time 19.?? CET
Hell, I didn;t even have time to look a the watch when THIS happened! Poland attacked Eastern Slovakia. Seconds later there are orders – fight in 10th minute of battle. I run to set up a camera. "Spaniards" as we call soldiers stationed in Spain are cursing with all their might - they will be mising the action. But it doesn't really matter - they will have a chance to prove themselves yet. So here it goes - Polish Army, firt to fight.

ETA 23:50:00, Eastern Slovakia.
One picture is worth of a thousand words

Time - 22.00 CET
I am going to my bed, little nervous about tomorrow battle. Someone told me we did about 10k damage. But it is just rumors, I belive it was more!

9.XI.2009 – Polish Army Camp

Today is a aniversay of the fall of The Bern Wall. One day in the ear when we love Germans and we happily say "Ich bien ein Berliner" (which doesn't mean at all - "I am a doughnut&quot😉. But let us get back to to things more important then the fall of communism - to WAR.

Time - 18:45 CET
Phew, I barely made it. My old Ułaz almost lost its wheels and broke the camp gate - I was in such a hurry. Today orders are confidental. Seconds later I know everything - we will be fighting full on in Eastern Slovakia, 3 minutes before battle end. And there are some more good news - "Spaniards" arrive today! Just after working, they get a ticket and go here. I think talks about an upcoming fight are a bit to loud, we obviously have some secrecy keeping problems.

Time - 19:30 CET
Most people is really nervous. Someone is nagging to fight earlier, he wants to gift himself up an is afraid he won't manage in time. But orders are orders. Someone is explaing how to exactly fight in kami, when to heal, when work, when train. Spaniards start to arrive in ePoland territory. Wall in ES is at 180k, it doesn't look so good. In the meantime we are cheering other fighting groups.

ETA 00:04:00, Eastern Slovakia
I run out of camp to set up my camera, get ready for attack. 3 minutes to fight 11 times, heal, work, gifts, shooting a movie. Phew. Not so much time. Many people went out with me to get ready.
ETA 00:03:00 Eastern Slovakia
We attack. But something is wrong, I don't see many comrades beside me. Well, there is no time! This wall is so high. Damn, we are not going to make it! I get back to the camp to know what is going on.

Time 20:10 CET – Polish Army Camp
There was a change of orders! In the last moment, just before the end in ES, a battle in Central Slovakia broke out and we were supposed to hit there. Normally, without kamikaze, only Spaniards were suppose to go all-out. And I didnt hear anything, didn't see anything, battledust, battle fever. Someone is saying that orders weren't clear enough and they came to late. People are accusing one another, eventually high command is shutting everybody up. Situation is being explained. Some suggestion on how to avoid simmilar situation in the future are made. This is miltary after all! There must be order!
ES was of course defended by Hungarian. But there are some good news after all - Graubunden, ass well as some bad ones - Syddanmark. One thing I have to say for Hungarians - they are really strong – 4 parallel battles and only 1 lost!.
Personally I am a bit sad about my damage send into lost battle. We are a little bit lost, morale is down. But in the aftermatch discussion Cz4rny1337 - one of our commaners says: "Most of the attack went in the right direction. We deluded Hungarians. And that is what it was about!" He say it is his personal opinion but I really hope he is right.

Time 21:00 CET, Quartermaster's tent
I watch a movie from the battle. It is useless - someone tripped a camera and I only see boots of soldiers going here and there. I go to my desk and see an envelope - I got promoted to colonel. Well I suppose it was decided before my action today, otherwise ... Well, I will be a better soldier tomorrow, that I am sure!

10.XI.2009 – 721 day of the New World

Time - 18.00 CET, Polish Army (WP) camp, Polish-Slovakian border

After yesterday lost fight moods in camp seem to be a lot better. I can see clearly that the roganization has won. Today we fight for training only so there is not so much tension. "Spaniards", our troops stationed in eSpain, are healing their wounds after yesterdays allout fight. Rest of us is just training in Slovakia. Camp is full of small talk, al people seem to be quite happy and relaxed, morale is high. We are a new unit but we start to get along with each other, making first friends and relations.
Todays orders are clear - we fiht for training, hit the enemy 5 times at 23:40 before and of the battle. Just to block the Hungarians.
Some soldiers seem to worry that this war will consist of blocking only, but most of us now it cannot last forever. But for me it doesn't really matter what we do - it mattrs that we do it together.

ETA 23.45, Slovakia
I menage to turn on my camera in the last moment to shoot an attack of our elite squad - POW. It seems that they were given orders to attack a tad quicker than rest of us. Guys showed a great teamwork and it looked like this.

ETA 23:40, Slovakia
Our main forces attack together with POG. Banners of Polish Army are mixed with banners of fearless and dreadfull Rabbit banners - as you can see here.

11.XI.2009 – 722 day of the New World.

Today is a Polish Independence Day. Today we attack Central Slovakia - again. Unfortunetly - I am sick and cannot take part in the fights but it generally looks like we are winning so far. But the real judgment day comes tomorrow.

From inside news our comman decided to organize our orders distribution better. Orders will be now send on safefrequencies. I think it was a wise decision.

12.XI.2009 – 723 day of he New World. Polish Army Field Hospital.

Time 16.00 CET
I feel totally sick. But I won't give up so easy! At the moment I have a little bit of strengh I ask my squad commander that he allows me to do a scouting mission. On the verge of conconsciousness I attack and than come back straight to hospital.I think we are still winning at this moment

22.00 CET, Polish Army camp, Polish-Slovakian border

I just had to get out of bed. I ignored doctor's order and went straight to our camp. On the way I turned on the radio just to find out that we lost. Hungarians managed to defend Central lovakia ... again. I arrive at the camp and I see an afterbattle image. But this is a victorious battle afterimage! Everyone's happy, people are singing songs - both patriotic and, well, more, let's say, "manly" songs. I am totally confused and ask - what in the bloody hell just happened? It turns out that we WON! Central Slovakia is taken - information in the radio was not true! Last withdrawing Hungarian forces were just confused for occupying forces.
I regret I wasn't there to see it! I should have been! But why shoul you belive me? I wasn't there. That's why I turned my microphone on and made an interview with two kind soldiers who witnessed it all.

For the record I managed somehow to get a recording of the last minutes of battle in Central Slovakia - here it is!

Interview with TheBaki – general of Polish Army, manufacturing worker, Squadron I.

Smęciak: We won, at last. How do you feel about it?
TheBaki: I still can not shake off the shock! Truth to be told, I lost hope when, after the first 2
minutes from stopping the clock the wall suddenly snatched to +20k, and then just grew. The first wave of positive emotions come with the link to the region CS - there was a Polish flag there! However, Poland did not have it additional area in the regions, so I approached this from a distance.
S: Sorry for interrupting but not all of our Readers know the exact history of this battle, so can You tell from the moment of impact of the Polish Army. When we hit, with whom, what was the wall height before and after. And of course what happened then ...
TB: Polish Army struck 3 minutes before the end of the battle. Together with our squads I saw such squads asPOG, BDS, some Americans and Croats.
Orders were: "Strike for 3 minutes before the end of the CS, then cure, working and wait for orders for the kamikaze."
Approximately 10 minutes before the end of the battle the wall was more or less 40k. Somewhere around 5 minutes to refresh the wall I saw -5k. We attacked as ordered in 3 minutes to the end, WP banners filled the screen.
Along with other squads we managed to beat the wall to -20k, and returned to camp -to wait for instructions as to the kamikaze.
However, it should be noted that Hungarians were not wasting their time, their tanks just appeared, including infamous Russian Parter.
S: So we ought in to waves - not full kamikaze from the start?
TB: yes, exactly.
TB: Returning to the story - it was wall-6k, when orders fell "WE DO KAMIKAZE" screamed by all the commanders. We hit about 1.5 minutes to the end, maybe it was 1 minute, I do not really know, I was so anxious.
When the counter reached 00:00 I saw the wall was -8888 ... and all went silent, we were all waiting for the verdict. And so after 2 minutes, the wall suddenly increases to 20 k and was inexorably rising. We saw WP and other soldiers attacking with their last strengths.
Unfortunetaly- it took 10 minutes off the time and has grown into the wall at this point 40k.Then information appears: "Central Slovakia has been secured by Hungary. "
S: What did you feel at this moment?
TB: It was like a shot in the heart! We didn't understood what has happened! We saw at least 2 newspapers shouting: "POLAND FAIL". What has happened later I said at the beginnig of the interview.
S: So the Hungarians were late with their defence?
TB: In reality it was a time bug, which was used by the Huns. But yeah, we can say that they were late with their defence.
S: Great thanks for the story!
TB: At Your service.
S: And last word for our Readers?
TB: As a plain, simple soldier of Polish Army I want to congratulate all Poles fighting in this battle. We did a great job, new region in our country borders prooves it! We fought for independence of our ally and we managed to win first battle but the war is still on! Ready your weapons for net fight! To victory!

Interview with Gallar – Gallar, captain of Polish Army, land worker, squadron I, stationed in Spain

Smęciak: Hello. Pleas -say a few words about yourself.
Gallar: I am a "Spaniard". I was enlisted in second wave. I am also a squad "organizer".
S: What that does mean?
G: If You wnat something in good price - you come to me.
S: Ok. So let's continue our story.
G: We arrived late, just 30 minutes before the landing military transports arrived. We don't have such enormous machines even in the mine! But back to the topic. Orders were clear - fight till wella is 50-60 and get back to the camp.
(At this moment Gallar stops his story for a moment to eat some bigos. He seems totally exhausted.)
G: When the battle was over, when we crushed the enemy into the ground, it sudddenly turned out that there are more enemy forces comming.
S: Sorry for interruption, but you didn't fight with your all streangh?
G: "Spaniards" did not but manufacturers did as ordered. I spent my last savings at WB and q4 weapon, I gave my ration to more needing.
S: What a dedication in fight for our ally! That is a a true Polish Army soldier!
G: Anyway, when the situation was dramati I hastened to the commander asking if I could join.
(Gallar smiled at that time to his memoirs and took another spoon of bigos.)
G:He said that if I feel ready for it, I can go. So I ran. I don't remember much more. I saw blood, I saw tears, but were going forward. We were being pushed away by enemy tanks, but we were fighting. Like insurgents in a burning Warsaw. Only that we had succeeded! We have done it! It was a wild luck, but we have done it!
(My interlocutor distracts from the food bowl, smiling, eyes shining with joy.)
G: Sorry for so disconnectedly tell, but I am so terribly tired. And I eat bigos (he laughed).
I was supposed to eat immediately after the battle, but it lasted an hour longer, so I am dying of starvation now!
S: Do not disturb yourself! But do tell - what happened next?
G: A Marshal from Croatia ended with no ammunition, so I gave him some from my private stocks of the backpack. The battle was, really long and hard, but I'll tell you, I havent' feel so much adrenaline for a long time.
S: Many Croats came to fight by our side?
G: Croats scrolling up every now and then. The Marshal came to Polish permanently to support us. Former Croatian
president.
S: Amazing ... we should invite him to the WP! But sorry for the digression - let's go back to the story.
G: I'll tell you honestly that our side has prepered well for the battle. I havent' seen so much gifts smuggled in our camp for a long time, let alone talk about selling them.
After 25 minutes of the scheduled end of the battle is still going on, there is some fierce fighting, and I unfortunately had to withdraw. When I left the tent, I was convinced of defeat - at the end of Hungarian wall was at 20-30k how I collected and the amount has changed to 10k for each conversion.
S: So that was the end?
G: So it would seem. Meanwhile, I came back after 5 minutes, turn on the radio - and on all news channels, "Lost,
lost, lost." I plugged in the frequency of the Peace, and there was some total propaganda - "Fail Eden", "We kicked their butts", things like that.
S: That must felt terrible.
G: But I toggle back to our frequency and ... damn - something is wrong! All proclaim victory! VICTORY! SUCCESS! (Gallar almost screams). I ran up the station of WP to share the good news. It turned out that everyone already knows, and everybody drinks, and everyone is happy.
S: But how this misinformation? What happened?
G: Errors up there, the battle should have ended much earlier, as we crushed Hungarians into the ground. Countdown
ended in wall at 2600 as we had an advantage. A few seconds later the advantage was at 25 000. Later it was 11k, up to a certain moment it went from 11k on our favour to 27k for theirs. And then all the hell broke loose. I feared to listen what people were shouting in radio, especially in open channels. I had curses I havent heard before! It made me sick just to hear descriptions of what should meet the people responsible for this situation.
S: Amazing!
G: But complaints poured in, thousands of complaints! And since they were all the same, the Hungarians were forced to
withdraw from the territory of Central Slovakia. What a battle! Even Multi-Uner whre seen. These pink and these less.
And now let me go to sleep, I am dead tired. I need a rest.
S: Well, that was just an incredible story! Heart grows as one listens! Even Uneroids did fight! And now could you say a few words from yourself to the Readers?
G: From me?
S: Yes. Of course!
G: I want to greet my staff and say that they should not be afraidof tomorrow, I will not be sacking anyone. And those who havereported that would have less wellness will be gifted. I appeal to employers to follow my example. It is
probably everything.
S: Thank you for this interview!
