If your calling eUSA RL Russia for population your awfully wrong there, Russia is in top (what 5 or 6)? when it comes to populations but technically if you calling someone out on highest population you'd be calling the RL China, or at least India. But anyways, Romania may apologize for breaking the ATLANTIS treaty, but unless almost all other ATLANTIS nations forgive them, Romania still has to pay up 100 gold to each ATLANTIS nation.

I am one for being open and not keeping secrets, but Benn should not be boasting his opinions within seconds of events and damaging the image of the eUSA. Take a breather, wait a few days, consult some eAdvisors, and then write an article. There shouldn't be any problem. Romania can do what they want, we won't get involved, we didn't know about it beforehand so we are not responsible. eUSA should be a mostly isolationist country, not the imperialistic country it is now (in RL and in eRepublik.

This sounds like a Government problem, I beleive we should just the boys on the hill work this crap out with the Romanians. I do agree that the public statement coming from our leader was a bit to much. You are the leader of the Largest Country in the eRep world so you prolly should not be the first one to jump about this problem in Russia. Hell just pm me and tell me what the problem is and Ill give them hell for it if you want or maybe a congressmen.

Romania.... Dont worry to much about relationships, I personally feel very bad for the Russian people and I will be an advocate for giving them back there country just so long as they do not decide to join our enemies. Beyond that we have bigger fish to fry and I say we get on with it.

I'm with our President, you people are in an Alliance, which is based on a treaty, now, this is a game and you can go rogue and do whatever the hell you want, but you can't deny that there are consequences to your in-game actions. And quite frankly, trying to antagonize us doesn't help much.

Well Russia has no where near the top population is the world. It's around 140 million people. RL US has more then that. Those comparisons made no sense at all. All they tried to accomplish is to say that eRomania is better then eUSA. I definetile see lots of bitterness from RL there.

Also, why all Romanians keep calling this just a game and then make comparisons to RL.

I think if Romania keeps up its actions, after next election a war might be in the making.

The comparison would be like this:

RL USA (Romania, not the largest population, best army) attacks RL Iraq and RL China (not the best army, largest population) threatens RL USA.

Or even better.
RL USA attacks Iraq and an ALLY (let's say the UK) says the NATO charter was not respected .. on terms of "we were not informed" and makes a media scandal.
And then what happens?

Then RL Arabs + Russians + Chinese (here PEACE) start flooding the media with messages to stir trouble between the 2 allies ..
And a UK general is found in Iraq, training the army of Iraq..

One last thing I promise. This "game" isn't to far from real life, because there are real people in this eWorld, behind every citizen is a RL person at a keyboard, therefore, this game compares to RL easily. Grow up y'all.

Another thing. If you say real world would be better without any wars you'll get almost everybody to agree, including me. If you're saying erepublik would be better without wars you:
a. are trying to build a value that ads good game experience, but
b. don't realize erepublik like all games is better with wars or
c. are using it as an excuse for your inferior army and also
d. are using it as cheap propaganda against a superior army
e. are plain hypocritical

FIST was all about war when they had the upper hand, and when they lost it they changed their name into PEACE. If they'll ever get the upper hand again PEACE's name will be WAR. So let's get ourselves together and don't let them get the upper hand.

It's fine not to sustain Romania's war, but if you are against it you're in one of the situations above.

Mystery Johnson have some strong points. For example I hate that people don't really read my article but they listen that propaganda crap PEACE is pouring into their heads. And then they go complaining about "Romania is doing whatever they like, they'll attack Norway next". WTF.

@Chisholm: Totally agree with you that Benn is still the president of USA. But a president of USA and an ally country can NOT and DO NOT make some kind of affirmations regarding an ally country like : "Romanian leaders are hotheaded", "you have brainwashed your citizens" or "Romania was not so active in the French war" .
After he siad that, he lost all the resppect of the Romanian soldiers which by the way were fought even on american battles during French war.

So, respect is something which you should carefully take care of. It is granted for free but it will not last forever, no matter you are doing or saying.

Somebody has to say to eUS president, that disregarding and publicly insulting an allied ecountry such as eRomania is completely wrong!

Let's put it this way:

Atlantis is very happy to have Romania as an ally. I know personally I'd rather Romania on our side. That having been said, I understand Benn's position for two reasons.

1. Romania is part of Atlantis, of which there are steps to be followed when any of us decide to go to war. Romania decided to side step these rules and do their own thing. I'm sure there were reasons for it and I'm sure they're realizing that it should have been done differently, but what's the use of crying over spilled milk?

2. There are a good amount of US citizens in Russia, and are more of a friend than a foe to the Atlantis cause. Romania could've gone to the west, but they chose to go to the east. I think it's left a sour taste in some players mouths, especially with the current war with PEACE.

I don't feel like this means we can't be friends, but if a friend makes a poor judgment, isn't it our responsibility to say something about it? A good friend will stand up and speak to you directly and bluntly on any issue he may disagree with you over. A poor friend will just roll over and not say anything.

There isn't much of an opinion I have on the situation, but given the choice, I would've much rather seen Romania head towards the west.

You people take this "secret" business to seriously.
And we did inform the allies.

@Chrisholm, Thank you for giving reason and not just arguing over something petty. However, I don't believe that I said that this is "completely" RL. I said it relates to RL because the people behind the screen names are RL people. So in that since it can be related to RL easily. I'm not sure if Shadow agrees with that or not, but even if he doesn't, just because we don't agree on that point, it doesn't make half of what I said up there untrue.

Also, you're right we did have help in a much different way. But what no one seems to realize is this: We attacked France, along with all the other Atlantis nations bordering it. Which opened up many fronts that France had to fight against. Yes the had direct help from their allies, but they had to divide that PEACE force among multiple fronts. Someone can only fight so many times a day without losing a large amount of cash (for gifts) or wellness. So, in effect, if say we had attacked with all the of our allies on a single front, then it would've just turned into, a shoving match of who is bigger, but attacking on multiple fronts forced PEACE to be more organized in order to fight us ALL back, which they succeeded in doing!

@Guud, You made some good points that I simply can't argue with, however, Benn went about it in the wrong way. If he had gone straight to the president of Romania and said something to him directly and bluntly, then that would've been fine. However, he didn't do that, he called out his ally in front of the whole eWorld. Everyone can see that now. He bashes, belittles, and insults the Romania people and their president in front of everyone unnecessarily. If someone had done that to the eUSA, Benn would have been outraged, and likely wouldn't be their ally any longer. However, the Romanian people are taking it quite well, not acting brashly and foolishly as Benn had. He need not push his allies too far else they can easily leave and join our enemies.

Not so much an operation underway, just citizens of the US who are residing in Russia, and with that kind of population and mindframe, it's like attacking someone who would potentially be an Atlantis ally.

If what you say is true, then I will take you at your word. But from what I've heard, most of Atlantis was not aware of your plans (and by most, i don't mean all the members, but rather those in office who should be privy to their allies info). I'm sure there are two sides to the story, and from what has been written here, it seems like Romania admits to being secretive about it. I'm not making a huge thing out of it, I just understand where Benn is coming from.

@Victor: I only told Benn we are going to do something, he didn't know what. So USA's frustration and sour taste is understandable. But on the other hand I didn't know either anything about USA's plans.

@Mystery Johnson: I don't really relate much to RL. I just used that RL comparisons because I though there are a lot of new citizens in USA who don't know so much about the new world in erepublik. Maybe not a very good choice.

I do agree with you because you did understand the article. It is a bad display of foreign relations but so was Benn's article. That's the end of it, if you understand that things are settled and we're all good.

As you might know, a soldier is most likely NOT a politician of any kind.

@Shadow: all ATLANTIS representatives I've seen in the media say that an official announcement was made 48 hours before the attack on the ATLANTIS forums. (Augustus Baldwin from Canada is one to confirm)

Benn needed a private message from Alex to find out about the war.
I know this was a lack of courtesy from our President, but I believe the announcement on the forum makes our actions according to the Charter.

What does this mean? I cannot believe no high ranking American official read the ATLANTIS forum news 48 hours before the war.
And if that is true and they didn't read that announcement, something needs to change in our communication system.
