From multiaccounter's diary

Day 850, 14:24 Published in Canada Canada by Nagrix

What I’m bringing to you today is an extraordinary story. My friend described his unusual eRepublic life and asked me to publish it. That’s because he was banned for managing multiple accounts. Saying this I don’t mean 2 or 3. He actually had 10 of them active and around 20 dead already. Once again, I'm not the author of this tale and I do not support actions like these. The story was originally written in Polish, I was the one who translated it. I regret to inform you that it lost a bit of it’s taste due to it. But I hope it’s not that bad anyway. Enjoy!

"Welcome, citizens of eRepublik, for the last time.

My main citizen account, Futrzaczek, was permanently suspended for creating and administrating multiple accounts yesterday. However, it’s not what astonished me. It’s exactly the opposite – I managed to fool the admins for more than half a year.

Let me tell you the whole story…
I signed up for eRepublik in June 2009. Although I was supposed to play until reaching lvl 6 only, the game drew me in. As any of you can check, I had been working in manufacturing section. Months were passing, the appetite was getting bigger but… I was completely broke. Buying gold for real money was not an option. I’m not that rich to spend my money on a virtual dude on a lagging server. Those days an idea was born - to split my personality. In other words, to become a “multiaccounter”.

How exciting it was! The nerve-racking worry about being banned, thorough choice of new profiles and removing all the traces. That’s how the first multi was born – a specialist in constructions. At last, I could have afforded fighting with a set of Q1s. ‘Bah, Q1s only?’ you may say, but it was a great achievement for me. I was saving some money for a house too. However…

… I still lacked money to meet my needs. Thus, I created a few more accounts, which I managed with care every day. The process took a whole month because I didn’t want it to look suspicious. The admins were so blind not having seen all those donates to my main account. The real life has started – napoleon, Q2 and Q3 weapons, Q5 house. Finally, my dreams came true.

The next challenge I was eager to face was running my own company. That’d be another source of income as well. And so new multies sprout, whose lifespan was around 9-10 lvl. Using their reflinks I spawned more and more of them, creating a complicated net of connections. I was transferring the income via the monetary market from now on, not to leave trails behind me. Although it consumed a bit more time, it was much safer. I wanted to avoid being spotted by “multi hunters”.

All those sinister actions earned me a little treasure so I opened a Q1 bakery to start with. Soon, it was followed by a Q2 sawmill. Then I became a Field Marshall what was the thing I ever desired. Still, I was envious of battle hero medals others had. I sold the Q1 food and upgraded the wood from Q2 to Q3. The only thing left to do was to just enjoy my luxurious life. Until yesterday…

… my active accounts got banned. The reason was sharing the same IP address. As far as I can count all, I created around 30 multies. All of them in ePoland, all of them fighting as the MoD ordered, for our alliance’s eternal glory. I moved some of them either to Rhope Alps or Berlin to strengthen the wall in there. Acting to ePoland’s loss never came across my mind. I just wanted to dispose a few thousand of damage consciously.

To sum up, it’s impossible to live meaningfully without frauds. However, I don’t encourage anyone to cheat as I did (On the other hand, I don’t regret it). I’ve just become a free person. I don’t care about HW medal, gold, damn Phoenix. I have much more time for myself, my friends and family now. In the future I’ll banter a tale of fooling around under admins’ nose to my grandchildren.

For that last time,
HAIL POLAND, HAIL EDEN!"
