France #1 for population?

France currently has just over 19000 citizens, the largest population of any country in the eWorld. This is about a 150% increase in about three days,which was 8000 or so citizens. Can someone explain exactly what is going on here? Are there people in Paris walking up to random people in the streets and telling them to start playing eRepublik? Maybe taking out ads in local TV stations about how France can for once in the last 200 years win a war, even if it is only in a game? The only other explanation is that eFrance is cheating big time, which I can't see how they can do unless they are making multiple accounts. This seems kinda fishy, and I would like to know how they are doing it. And if its legal, I want the eUS government to start taking some notes 🙂

Do captured enemy citizens count toward your countries pop count? I thought that didn't happen now that we have the citizenship module.
I heard that they have had eRep spoken about in a major-market news article in France, but I haven't seen it to confirm...
If we could just get advertisements in our own media, we'd be No. 1 for sure.
Advertisments = more people = extra damage and defenses = winning war.

Yeah most of the new guys were obviously not around for French Toast or any of the other ATLANTIS blunders (biggest one being obviously the trapping and backstabbing of e-Germany). So there won't be as much vindictiveness towards e-US or e-Canada, at least on their part. It's very doubtful current and new Emerican or e-Canadian players will have much love for any of the countries in PEACE however. Just like in RL past history will continue to affect what happens geopolitically.
A lot of France's population are near-dead/inactive Spanish players in regions that France is conquering.
Plus, they are doing some aggressive real-life recruiting and have a large 'baby boom'.

As a Canadian, I just dislike current PEACE's admin, and hold no gudge against specific countries. We fight is because we want our home back. I'm sure there're many respectable and noble players among PEACE as well. (the PEACE GC impeachment shows that my above point is correct)
At least for me, i have no intention of taking advantage of the situation. We love peace and this conflict is enough for everyone.
If my country really take on revenge and do the same things as what PEACE currently doing, I will join the other side to fight against it.

it is sad, but in reality there are thousands of multis playing. if you find one, report them. sometimes the admins take a while to ban someone, but if the evidence is there, they will do so.
