Former Pres. Clinton Dead at 62

Washington DC - Five years after undergoing major open heart surgery to alleviate his coronary artery disease, former President William Jefferson Clinton died of a massive heart attack this morning at his residence in Washington, D.C. President Clinton was discovered by a member of his Secret Service detail after failing to appear as usual for breakfast. The estimated time of death was 9:11am EDT.

Notified by the Secret Service, former First Lady and current Secretary of State Hilary Clinton was rushed to the Walter Reed Army Medical Center shortly after. President Obama issued a statement expressing the shock and sadness of the First Family and the United States government, and honoring the late President's contributions to America. Flags across the country were lowered to half mast to honor the fallen former leader.

Former Presidents Jimmy Carter, George Bush, and George W. Bush expressed their condolences in a joint message to the Clinton family, and made preparations to travel to Washington, D.C. for the state funeral, which will take place early next week. According to Clinton's funeral instructions, made while he was president, he will lie in state in the Rotunda of the Capitol Building for two days before a funeral service at the William J. Clinton Presidential Center in Little Rock, Arkansas, where he will be buried. The former president is survived by his wife, Hilary Clinton, and daughter, Chelsea Clinton.
