Egypt is likely to be a prosperous land with own sources of oil, fruit, iron, and cattle. This also could make us a target. We have some established countries on our borders, if we can establish strong relations/alliances with these countries we can make a good effort to our security.
Who do we border
3 of our regions border a total of 4 countries - Greece, Israel, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia. We might say 5 countries, as Cyprus is also on our borders, but for now that country is likely to stay under either Greek (current) or Turkish occupation.
Lower Egypt borders: Southern Cyprus (currently Greece), Mediterranean Coast of Turkey (Turkey), Aegean Islands (Greece), and Crete (Greece).
Red Sea Coast borders: Al Madinah (Saudi Arabia) and Tabuk (Saudi Arabia).
Sinai borders: Southern Cyprus (currently Greece), Beersheba South District (Israel), Tabuk (Saudi Arabia), and Al Jawf (Saudi Arabia).
Defense considerations
So we can see where our priorities for defence should lie - First Lower Egypt, Second Red Sea Coast, and Third Sinai (I put Sinai 3rd because if it falls then the attacker must still go through Red Sea coast or Upper Egypt - and if someone is seeking a route to attack Israel or Saudia Arabia, they might seek to gothrough Sinai).
I would like to propose that soon after congress elections, that a Defense Strategy is drawn up that prioritises moving population to these border states and building defense systems to protect them.
Foreign Relations objectives
We need to prioritise our near neighbours in our foreign policy strategy. We should establish bilateral relations with Greece, Israel, and Turkey as priority - Greece and Turkey are the most powerful players in this region, and we do not want to get swallowed up in their great rivalry. Saudi Arabia is already a friend, through the TAGE connections, but we must be aware of the potential for PTO of Saudi, and/or invasion of Saudi by her neighbours, which could give them access to Egypt.
We should not join one of the grand alliances at this point. Smaller countries tend not to benefit from them and in fact make themselves an easy and justifyable target to the opposing alliance.
We should consider the possibilities of regional alliance - perhaps with UAE, Saudi, and Israel. Until Greece and Turkey resolve their differences we should not invite only one of them into an alliance as this will make us partisan and invite the possibility that the other will attack us.
We should appoint capable ambassadors to Saudi, Greece, Turkey, and Israel. We should seek to set up co-operation agreements and invite imports of resources from these countries. Economic ties help increase the costs to our neighbours of agressive actions.

sadly for us greece and turkey are enemies.
BUT Greeks want to help Egupt. I had more than 20 p.m how can I help Egupt.
If we need a bridge with Greece I am here.
Good analysis Mr Kafka. I like your way of thinking! We must strenghten Egypt and avoid any possible conflict. Therefore it's a must to build up good relations & cooperations with our neighbors. Thinking about joining one of the big alliances should be point 3 of the Charta. Imho the first 2 points should be building a strong community and develop a strong and stable maket! After that we should discuss the possibility of joining alliances. 'Though I think single mpps with "wisely chosen" countries should be the first step...
Vote...o/
Vote! Good analysis! Greece is not afraid, no interest, the more I try to have ties with Turkey, a country Israel is not active, but probably will be afraid, try not to get into trouble, because they disappear.
Count on me, please me.
One question.. ¿And Iran?
nice article.
I think you can be a great president of eEgypt if you want.
V+S
Iran would be good to have relations with. But as they don't border us, I do not think that they are the first priority. Israel is an active country, and I do not think it is helpful to talk about them disappearing. Look closely on the map an you will see that eIsrael does not occupy the west bank and gaza in the eworld, although I would like to see 'Jersualem' district renamed as 'West Jerusalem' in order to remove any suggestion that erepublik is not in accordance with the spirit of Oslo.
@Sagi - thanks for the confidence, but I do not think that it would be appropriate for a former President of eIsrael to seek the Presidency here, I am content to be a supporter, maybe even a congressman.
I want to be the ambassador to e-Turkey!

You have amazing intentions and you have my support, Franz. If you need help with any of your projects, please let me know 🙂
One more reason of why you are an experienced player.
Subbed, and voted.
good analyse, btw, israel must be eliminated
Thanks Tuhman... good luck on your baseless crusade 😛
I like your article. Great ideas! I'm a new player (just started today in fact!) and choose Egypt because I found out that is just got created a few days ago? If someone could show me some pointers in this game it would be greatly appreciated!
V + S.An Arab Alliance would be ideal.Greeks are friens(and Turks i think)Israel is the question mark!We will see what we can do.
@judeophobia - I wish you good luck in your entry to the new world. I would be happy to give you any advice you wish - jsut send me PM. As long as you'er hapy to receive advice from a Jew (I note your erepublik name!)
@Orthodox4ever - Agreed, we should have a good prospect of keeping out of the Turish-Greek rivalry. My only concern is that greedy eyes may fall on the resoruces of saudi arabia - which may make Sinai I transit point from Europe. I have good hopes that Israel will be a friend of Egypt - many of the RL issues that would come between us are not present in the eWorld, and I have watched Israeli media which has been almost 100% positive towards the brith of Egypt in the eWorld.
