"FeedMe Luzon Inc has announced that it is slashing prices on its stock of Q1 food by 20%. The company, which entered the food market earlier this week by aggressively under-cutting importers of foreign foods, has dropped the market price of Q1 food by over 2.50 PH in the last 48 hours.
“FeedMe Luzon was proud to pay our zero-skill workers 300% the minimum wage,” announced CEO John A. Kelly. “Now we’re celebrating all the new citizens who reached Level 3 by slashing prices so they can buy the goods they manufacture. ...If Congress lowers their income tax.”
As the head of the Philippine’s only active domestic food manufacturer, Kelly had some choice words for Congress. “The income tax act taxes food industry workers twice as heavily as gift manufacturers and 20 times more heavily than weapons manufacturers. Does Congress want my workers to make weapons instead of bread?”
When asked about the Filipino Progressive Movement (FPM) plan to develop “party-owned” food companies with money from the Bank of Philippines, Kelly had no comment."
Judging from Cascadia Foundation's comment about the food tax which was implemented a few days ago...... It seems that they are the one who is being abandoned by the industry....... Also, they see it as a discouragement because they give reasonable prices for the minimum wage, but now, they are being pinned down by the food tax, resulting to their inevitable discouragement with the industry........
This company is also concerned of their workers, so if they will leave, the workers would be left for dead......... Now, with their comment about the food tax....... They are saying that we must think about the laws, and also help our industries or else, we'd be the one who's going to suffer......

To be clear: We do not believe that we offer reasonable prices for the *minimum wage* because that is not possible (which is why we pay reasonable wages).
The production of every unit of Q1 food requires one unit of Q1 grain. When the minimum wage (now 1.00 PHP) is below the price of grain (now 1.75 PHP per Q1 or 2.80 PHP per Q2) then it is IMPOSSIBLE to feed minimum wage workers without charity, government subsidy or negative profit.
If food producers paid zero wages and earned zero profit, Q1 food would still cost 140-175% of the minimum wage, based on the cost of grain alone.
the minimum wage causes everything to fall in price =-p
That is good.
If minimum wage drops, so does the price of everything that is manufactured. Businesses can hire more people. More jobs can be created.
Companies hae more money to manufacture => More products are manufactured => More national wealth is created
