It's worth to gain more gold faster.. Gaining 10 FF medals earlier will gain you 50 gold. You will have to spend about 400 INR if you are travelling to 20 regions in the FF hunt. 400 INR is just 2 gold. So it's worth the expense to gain much gold earlier.
